The White Hart Royal Hotel is conveniently located in the market town of Moreton-in-Marsh at the head of the beautiful Evenlode Valley in the English Cotswolds. The hotel was and still is a great coaching inn. Its reputation was enhanced when King Charles I sheltered in the inn following the battle of Marston Moor on 2nd July 1644. A copy of the King’s unpaid bill is commemorated on a plaque within the entrance lobby.

My husband and i stayed at this hotel last week we booked for two nights for a break from our caring duties what a stay we had . On arrival we were told by reception staff we had a free upgrade ,such a lovely room overlooking the Main Street ,when entering the room there was such relaxing music playing . We were able to park outside the hotel but there isn’t a lot of space although you could park opposite. The staff were very pleasant nothing too much trouble . We booked for evening meal in the bar tables were spaced out which I particularly felt more at ease . Breakfast was served in the restaurant and again you could have a choice of seating .we had a mix of toasted bread !full English breakfast ,all this was served by the waiting staff . We travelled to Woodstock for a couple of nights before returning to The white Heart Royal for our last night .On arrival we met with the same reception staff that had greeted us on our first night ,this time we were given a premium upgrade we were told we would love it ,when we arrived at room 307 what a surprise we had it was fit for Royalty wow just wow ,the bath was the size of a hot tub ,all lit with lights around it. We had a shower in the separate bathroom as well . We ate in the bar for a Sunday roast early afternoon which was very tasteful with plenty of fresh vegetables ,a huge Yorkshire pudding . We booked for evening meal in the restaurant ,a little disappointing was that it was the same menu as we had lunch time ,but choice was ok but we would of rathered a menu different to that of a roast for lunch time . We returned to the bar for drinks after . This was a lovely stay and definitely we will return.
