Lovely time at this hotel. Great food in the masters restaurant, huge breakfast, friendly and helpful staff made this a pleasant stay. There was building work going on, which was discreetly carried out, as the hotel is undergoing refurbishment. Only slight downsides were the slightly dated bedroom and lack of wifi reach to our room.

I was a little worried after reading some previous reviews, but I need not have worried. What a lovely place for afternoon tea with my mother. Yes, we were the only people eating but it was 3 in the afternoon. We were in the dining room, which had wonderful views of the beautiful garden. The tea was amazing and we...

Thank you to Pat for helping us to organise a very enjoyable Christmas Party here back in December. For what was a tight budget, the food was very good, the room looked great with lovely decorations and we also had a great disco. The waiting and bar staff were also very attentive and professional. Highly recommended for a function.

Chose this hotel as a location to meet friends for lunch before moving on for our New Year break. Very good welcome from the young man in reception, we had arrived early, but our room was ready, this was quite small but adequate for a 1-night half board stay. We had been informed by hotel staff prior to arrival that...

Had a Wowcher voucher for a 2 night stay with dinner on first night and breakfast included. A lovely Jacobean hotel, friendly staff and excellent food. We stayed in a lovely room (number 8 ) which was really a suite. It's in a great location, close to Cirencester, Swindon and many other attractions. They are currently undergoing a refurbishment but...

With what promises to be a quaint, well established hotel from the exterior, sadly the reality falls wide of the mark. Upon arrival we were greeted with "Name?", rather than a courteous "good evening" or even "hello." This appeared a common trend throughout our stay as no one could care less who you were that is if you were even...

Stayed in the disabled room (20). Excellent room with very good facilities. Very large room and large bathroom allowing plenty of room for the wheelchair to move around. Building is Jacobean but been altered to give large rooms. Staff could not do enough for us. Always willing to go the extra mile for us! Evening dining was excellent and the...

We got married here on November 5th. Yes some of the hotel is dated, but that's exactly what we loved about this hotel! It has character and you rarely find this nowadays. Pat and her team were fantastic throughout, they couldn't do enough for us. All bedrooms were spacious and very clean. The wedding breakfast was superb, all guests commented...

Good location, charming exterior but very disappointing stay. Room decor average, poor bed quality where you can feel the hard springs. We woke up with a back ache. To be fair, our room was changed promptly on request. Breakfast was not special. Dinner deal was explained incorrectly and extra charge was added to our bill. On check out, Staff at...

As with a previous Swindon reviewer, I met a friend here for an afternoon tea treat prior to Christmas and via Groupon. We were also shown into dining room, although website states afternoon tea is served in drawing room. Dining room was not the most relaxing place for the event! However, tea and a cakestand arrived....NOTHING like the one in...
