Our Son treated us to high tea for my birthday, we had a choice of teas and the cakes sandwiches and best of all the scones were a melt in the mouth experience delicious. It was a lovely afternoon, the staff w ere attentive without being obtrusive. The only downside is the lack of parking spaces. We had to park...

Arrived at 3.20pm (check in from 3) room not ready, there was no apology and reception suggested we had a drink in bar or sit in garden. 4.15 we went back to check, room ready (it would have been nice if they had come and told us as they were not busy. Taken to room 5 I had booked Executive...

On arrival on Friday night we were able to book in for super. We were asked if we had booked a table This makes us laugh as there was loads of room as only two other tables were booked out. The bar service is a little slow At breakfast the next morning the very sweet waitress forgot to take our...

Hotel is situated right in the heart of Lewes, so ideal for exploring, but make sure you reserve a car space as I did. Hotel is clean, rooms purely functional with comfy beds, pretty faultless as a place to stay as a base, buy that's it. .Staff are very shy and not outgoing at all, it took me a painful...

On arrival at the Pelham we had high expectations; it looked lovely and a friend had spoken positively about it. However, we were disappointed within five minutes of arrival when we were told bluntly that despite the spaces in the small car park we couldn't park there as we hadn't reserved ahead. There was a wait at reception during which...

We had room 8 - a lovely quiet room overlooking the garden. The bathroom was warm with the towels soft and fluffy - what a pleasure. Only one drawback - the paulownia tree outside the window was not in flower. I recommend a pre-dinner drink in the "John Harvey" pub, 500m down the hill.

Went here for a training course. You have to book a parking space, which I did, but none were available when I arrived. The building is easy to find, signposted from the high street. The building itself is beautiful. The facilities were great, however wifi was a little slow for the age we live in. Catering was tasty and timely...had...

The evening meals were lovely and included things like octopus or scallops as well as lamb and steak and attracted a clientele from outside the hotel Room was so...

Room was tiny, nowhere for suitcases. Shower had mould on tiles Breakfast staff disorganised. Booking email was disingenuous about the price of breakfast. Worst of all unauthorised money 140 GBP was taken from my account. Am in process of retrieving it with help of my bank! Don't need this kind of hassle, and would warn others to check their banks...

As anyone who has traveled England can attest, good accommodations on the isle can be difficult to find. The weather, the history and bizarre property constraints often conspire to produce bizarre and cramped results. That is not the case with Pelham House. Despite its age, the hotel has maintained good standards for the highly functional and well-appointed hotel that offers...
