We attended a friend's birthday party down in the Green Room. Great venue for the band and around 70 people. Drinks reasonable and a funky flashing dance floor! The bedroom was spacious and fairly clean costing £69 for the night. The downside was that the pillows were really uncomfortable, to the extent we both had a rough night's sleep plus... More

The hotel looks rough from outside, my room which was 117 and my parents room in 114 were almost identical in faults. Dirty and grimey. Dust everywhere, stains on walls and carpets. Bath and shower had mould growth and dirty brown stains everywhere. Bath and been painted in white gloss at some point and paint was flaking away revealing dirty... More

I arrived at hotel and left same day, the room was very run down, bathroom was dirty, poorly lit and slippery floor. Room backs out onto noisy pub/club Reception staff wee polite and friendly Upon arrival but night manager was very rude, he walked off when I left and wouldn't speak with me regarding complaint. There are a lot of negative views on here regarding the Chatsworth, some are understandable , some not so , the rooms and bedding were very clean , the staff ,we found , we're really nice, however, very little on the way of the extras that help make a stay easier. ..no shampoos , one soap between two people ,... We had 3 rooms , as a family weekend . All three rooms were filthy , and in need of decoration. 2 out of 3 room keys did not work properly . My daughter in law had to seek help at 11pm to get back into their room , as the key did not work , and My Mother's door... More

The hotel is old and could certainly do with some renovation and/or decoration.. it smells somewhat musty in the public areas but our room itself was OK. Very hot though but we opened the windows so it was ok. Could hear the sea all night, which was lovely. Good view of the beach front too. The receptionist was great though,... More

This hotel is ideally located for accessing the beach, the shops, the pier etc but it really does need to have some money spent on it. The decor is tired, especially in the bathroom - the bed was like a trampoline. Some people might like a soft bed but this was ridiculous.

The hotel is situated right on the sea front and the single room I had overlooked the beach - beautiful. Tea and coffee making facilities, TV and hair drier all in the room. Bedding and towels clean. However, the wall at the bottom of the bed was very damp with the plaster bubbling off and the bathroom looked tired and... More
