You are greeted by warmth and style the moment you walk through the door. An interesting collection of books, art and a Japanese garden to walk through. This is a little haven of peace. Bedrooms spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast delicious. Host so very welcoming; I cannot praise this find too much after my second visit.

We stayed in the room 'Saadi' - which was beautifully decorated and overlooked the garden - very quiet. Breakfast was among the best we have ever had at a bnb! Excellent. The host was so welcoming - we enjoyed our free drink by the fire after dinner especially. Great location - about a 7 minute walk into St Leonard's and...

Sadly this was just an overnight stay. Vastly preferable to a boring hotel, this was a superior guesthouse with many lovely touches and endless interesting books, photograhpy and art. It is evident that the owner has invested a lot of care and love in making this a very special place. He made sure the woodburning stove was alight for our...

One very cold night's stay in this lovely B & B hosted by a charming man who made us very welcome. The bed was wonderful with excellent bed linen. The whole was stunning with lots of collections of books, art and masks. Since we were the only guests we were given a choice of bedroom and selected the four poster...

A wonderful place! Our room was large and comfortable, and the breakfast excellent, with lots of unusual choices. Our host was charming and very obliging, lighting a fire for us in the drawing room as we enjoyed a drink on the house in the evening. Definitely recommended.

The view of the Cloudesley from the street wasn't that fabulous but the room was just lovely. Spacious and well decorated. We did wonder though about the owner's attention to other details - like knowing who we were, whether we had paid and how long we were staying. Despite booking months in advance and making contact closer to our arrival...

We recently stayed at The Cloudsley for a weekend break. The very large room - with a four poster bed - was full of character with plenty of storage, comfy chairs and "real" tea and coffee (a jug of fresh milk was given to us to keep in the small fridge in the bedroom). The breakfast was very good and...

I have waited some time to write this. I married a girl from Hastings and we often return there from abroad. This time we needed accommodation and were drawn by the Cloudesley's location and descriptions, but it was not easy to visualise how bedrooms named after medieval Persian poets, artwork, and flowers would fit in with the practicalities of a...

Stewed here for 2 nights recently. The property has been refurbished to a high standard and we were very pleased with our choice. The host was welcoming , informative and a Chelsea gold medal winner and acclaimed photographer to boot. The wifi is being up graded which will help. The breakfast was exceptional with organic produce, fresh juices and fruit,...

Absolutely fantastic B+B. Great vibe, stunning decor, lovely room and super comfy bed, plus an outstanding breakfast. It's a tiny bit tucked in from the sea front, just a 10 min walk, but personally think that's part of it's charm as you feel like you're in a personal, lovely and cool neighbourhood. I noticed it's very near St Leonards train...
