My wife & myself stayed here on Sunday night because we were attending the War of the Worlds gig at the Brighton Centre. It's almost the closest hotel to the centre ( apart from the Grand but that's out of our budget sadly )
The staff advised us that they were having issues with

Refurbished and it looks good.

The stay was very good. If you are looking for a quite stay I wouldn’t recommend this Travelodge in Brighton but the good points with this hotel are that it is in a central location and newly refurbished.

Was good value, centrally placed, staff helpful and pleasant. Only niggle, black mould on shower sealant and shower curtain looked tired and needed replacement. Good breakfast with quality ingredients particularly liked fresh fruit salad.

Although central and reasonably priced I have stayed before when the noise from the nightclubs nearby was excessive, the lift out of service, and the public areas and decor distressed. How good then to find the place has had a makeover. OK there is still noise from the nightclubs

I booked a room in the reservation I only mention 1 person, all rooms in this hotel are doble rooms. I will be traveling with someone else and the hotel now wants to charge 50% extra for this occupancy. What is the law on this. In other words if you pay for a double room does the law protects you in some way so you can use it as double or single.?
Did you get the room at a special price when you mentioned you would be the only occupant? That is the only way I could see that you might be charged extra, but I have never come across this before. I would query it with the hotel.

Is there parking?
Yes there is, but we always park in the underground car park on Regency Square because it’s only £18 a day.

"The street outside can be lively at weekends, as for a high room or one of the street."
"We did have difficulty adjusting our room temperature but a member of staff was very helpful in resolving this."
"Higher floors are quieter"
