I travelled to Brighton in November 2016 to attend Bonfire Night in Lewes. My friends and I stayed at G&TC. What a fabulous bijou gem of a place - immaculately clean and comfortable and the kitchen and dining area could be used throughout the day and evening. Breakfast was superb; the very warm and friendly owners allowed us to invite...

David and Eric are friendly and really helpful with information about Brighton and local maps. They can give you a parking permit for a small extra fee. Room was fine and breakfast superb with plenty of choice, including cooked food and fresh fruit. from Janet and Brian.

As many have already said before, what really makes Guest and the City stand out are it's hosts David and Eric who make you feel very welcome from the moment you arrive. Parking could be an issue but David makes sure it isn't - he came with me and found us somewhere to park while Eric took our bags up...

What a surprise! We were a bit worried about the parking. When I pulled up to collect the parking voucher, David said 'Don't worry' and hopped in the car and directed us to a local parking spot. He carried our bags for the short walk back to the hotel. The decor is lovely, very contemporary. I have allergies so they...

Having never been to Brighton, my other half treated me to a night away for Christmas, scanning the multitude of hotels etc that were on offer, a photo of the stained glass windows of Guest in the City caught my eye. This incidentally turned out to be the room we stayed in! It's a small place tucked down a quiet...

This is a fantastic hotel! It is in a great location, spotlessly clean, quirky, delicious made to order breakfasts and the owners couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming. David and Eric went out of their way to provide every comfort and made our stay as enjoyable as possible. We will definitely be staying here again!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Guest and the City is a boutique Guesthouse that reflects all that we love about Brighton. With seven private bedrooms, situated in the heart of Kemptown, minutes from the centre of Brighton, 30 seconds from the beach and opposite the famous Palace Pier, it’s the perfect location to explore Brighton for Business or pleasure. We want our guesthouse to reflect everything we like about staying in Brighton. Guest in the City therefore takes the best bits of a traditional B&B – a relaxed, friendly service, a central location and of course a top-notch breakfast with locally sourced ingredients – and puts them in modern, high-spec surroundings. The result is a boutique feel without luxury prices. To us, that’s what Brighton is all about – finding new things that surprise you and make you smile. ... more   less
