I had a very happy and pleasant 3 nights in Swanage this Novemeber 2016. Warm, comfortable and clean. I look forward to returning there to stay again in the future. An especial thanks to the Manager, Lewis, Toni and the staff for all their time, effort and kindness.

I travelled with my mum who is in her 70s, sister in her 40s and my two children aged under 10. The communal games room, was ideal for the children, whilst my mum and sister retreated to the tranquility of the lounge in the evenings. Overall the hostel was a good base for the October half term break but I... More

Thank you for taking time to write us a review. Unfortunately due to the hostel being an old building and only having single glazed windows condensation can be an issue this time of year. The windows have been cleaned already and we also have a long list of jobs as part of our winter planning / redecoration. I have also... More

We have been here a couple of times and the staff and facilities are great. Food, a bar and entertainment! Live music during the Swanage Blues festival supplied by The Baroness and The ear and John Mclean and The Clan... One of Swanages little gems..

Thank you for your review. Once again the Swanage Blues festival was a great success and the band playing live at the hostel were fantastic. We very much look forward to being part of the next Blues Festival on the 3-5th March 2017. More

In short, everything on the ground floor (and the building itself) is excellent. Beautiful building, interesting interior, lovely - albeit dimly lit - lounge perfect for relaxation and reflection. And great views if you can get them. For me what let Swanage YHA down were the washroom and shower facilities. It goes without saying that the more comfortable, clean and... More

Thanks you for your review & comments about the shower water temperature and shelving. We will get someone to look into why it is a bit too hot as they are thermostat controlled. As a team we are working hard to improve the standards at the hostel and will be carrying out lots of work as part of our winter... More

We stayed as a family of 6 last weekend. On arrival we found out that we'd been allocated a 4-bedded room instead of a 6. It was immediately assumed by staff that I'd made a mistake but I knew I hadn't and had the email to prove it! Anyway, fortunately another 6-bedded room was found for us and the situation... More

Lovely, peaceful hostel ideally situated overlooking Swanage bay. Service by staff couldn't be more helpful and rooms clean and tidy. An additional service provided this year was having bed-linen fitted and ready for use! - a real bonus considering my previous struggles with duvet covers. Thanks for this. Fantastic Breakfast as always and really appreciated the recently installed new modern... More

We had a one night here and were pleased with our stay. The staff were helpful and kindly let us check in early. The rooms are a little tired but are clean. Thank you for taking time to write us a review. We are pleased to read you had an enjoyable time and very much look forward to seeing you again in the future. Unfortunately there is not much we can do in terms of the hill but at least due to our elevation we have great views over Swanage Bay. More

A cheap overnight stopover whilst travelling. Instantly recognisable as a YHA by branded bedding and decor. The room was a little more tired than other YHA's we have recently been in though it was clean and serviceable. We visited the south of England within two weeks with a family of four and stayed mainly in hostels by the YHA.
