Stayed a the grand for the weekend on a cheeky break while we are still a childless couple. Reception, conservatory and main areas are certainly very grand. Rooms starting to look a little dated, but spotlessly clean and if not a bit charming. We had a seaview room which had lovely views even in the terrible weather. Only gripe is...

Went away for a short break to do some photography. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Nice comfortable hotel. The coffee was good as I sheltered from the weather. Would stop again as was great value for money compared to other places around the area

Visited the grand for lunch. 3 course menu £15.95 was very good value for money. Starters were delicious and so was desert. The car very was good but only Luke warm would say needs to be kept warmer especially the veg and potatoes. Tasty meat though. Children's meal was a very good size and children's starter of picky bits a...

Stayed a couple of days at the grand. Had a room with sea view which was fantastic. Room was very clean and bedding linen and towels was whiter than white. You could not get a better location. All the staff were very friendly and could not do enough to please you. Will definately be coming back.Lynn

We stayed here about 25 years ago when it was probably in its prime. It's in need of a refurb but we had a really lovely weekend and would recommend it if you can get a good deal, as we did, and you're not too fussed about staying somewhere that's looking a bit tired. The food in the restaurant and...

Grand Hotel has a beautiful position overlooking the beach. The hotel has some tired areas but our room, with a sea view, was adequate. There s also a large lounge to relax in with comfy seats and sea views. Compliments to the chef, waiters and waitresses as the food was excellent and the service and attention by the dining room...

Very pleasant stay - food very good and staff extremely friendly and helpful. Our bed was rather small (we are both quite big) so we found it difficult to manage but next day we asked if anything could be done and although they were fully booked the manager found us another room with a slightly bigger bed - The mattresses...

This was our second short break visit to this hotel and it was excellent. Lovely sea view room. Yes the shower is a bit slow but it is a lovely big old building. The staff are so pleasant at this hotel. Had dinner in the bar and the food was, as our last trip, excellent. A member of staff who...

As 'Groupon' visitors, clearly eyes need to be 'wide open' especially during 'off peak'. As travellers who prefer a en-suite bath this was specifically requested and confirmed during booking (advised, only non-seaview rooms have bath) .... unfortunately during 'check-in' we were allocated room with shower, and on the 1st time of asking 'no chance of change' upon 2nd 'ask' a...
