My mum and I have just returned from a short break in Sherborne. We stayed in Rose cottage and it couldn't have been more perfect. From the moment we arrived Mary the owner made us feel totally at home. The twin room we stayed in was a really good size and clean and fresh and comfortable. (the bed was extremely...

We stayed overnight in the room with the king sized bed - one of two that Mary lets out - and had a wonderful stay. Mary was so warm and friendly that it was like staying with a friend! Immaculately clean and such a cosy cottage in a wonderful position right in town - so easy to walk everywhere- we...

Mary is always kind and her breakfasts are gorgeous: you can enjoy quality food choosing from several options. It is almost like being at home. We have been coming here for years and she is always very precise in the booking process.

This is one of several times - I think at least five! - I stayed at the Cottage, as I use to attend a Summer School in Sherborne. Mary is a lovely person and one of the best B&B owner I have ever met. She is able to make me feel at home and takes care of all my needs....

We stayed here for 2 weeks whilst attending the Sherborne music summer school and it has been fabulous - a lovely double ensuite room overlooking a lovely cottage garden, literally 3 mins walk from the school and town centre. Mary is a lovely hostess and we were made to feel very welcome. Breakfasts were plentiful and the home made muesli...

We recently enjoyed two nights at Rose cottage. Mary is warm and welcoming. We had a lovely quiet, spotless room overlooking her pretty garden at the back. The bed is large and incredibly comfortable! There is free WIFI which was important to us. We loved the location and hardly used the car. We just walked into Sherborne each day. Sherborne is...

I very rarely give anyone a bad review, just check my stats. Mary seems a nice person but there is nothing like arriving to find out your confirmed room isn't waiting for you. She didn't even have us in her book! Everyone makes mistakes but after a long day of travel being left without a place to stay is distressing...

Dear Carol, It is very disappointing to have received this review - my first negative one of the 61 I've received over the past 9 years. You did indeed show me a print out upon arrival, with prices and room details. However, there was clearly a communication break down somewhere as in order to confirm a room I always request...

A wonderful weekend spent here, visiting with family friends in Sherborne. Mary provides a tranquil sanctuary - a home from home experience. Fabulous breakfast (the homemade muesli was a treat!). Nothing was too much trouble and we will definitely be looking to find an excuse to return.

My husband and I spent 3 nights at Rose Cottage. It is such a pretty place, and the bedrooms are light and airy. Our room overlooked a beautiful cottage garden. Mary was the perfect "hostess", suggesting places to eat and even making a booking on our behalf. The breakfasts were lovely, and the home made preserves so tempting. The atmosphere...
