Stayed with John & Sue on 5th/6th Aug as we were attending a family 25th Wedding Anniversary. I'm so pleased I found this lovely B&B, the location is beautiful and peaceful and the rooms are very comfortable. I must say that the breakfast is second to none, everything was cooked to perfection. Thank you for letting us stay at your...

I stayed for 4 nights recently, having checked the reviews on Trip Advisor, and I wasn't disappointed. Beautiful, peaceful location, lovely owners, delicious breakfasts, great room... I would certainly come to The Alders again and can thoroughly recommend it!

We stayed here for 2 nights over the weekend with friends for a wedding in Sherborne. Great place, spotlessly clean, beautifully quiet, friendly hosts and a fabulous breakfast with a choice to suit your appetite. What more could you want or need? Excellent value too. A typical English B&B and feels good to patronise a small local business with people...

It's not often that you stay in a lovely village location where everything is undertaken by the very attentive owners, John & Sue - they even built the house. Beautiful clean and comfortable accommodation, tea and coffee room facilities with fresh milk, attractive gardens and an excellent breakfast. In fact, everything you would want from an overnight stay! Try the...

We were house hunting in the area and decided on the Alders because of previous reviews. We were not let down as we were warmly greeted by the owners and were soon in our room with little delay. The room was cosy and had everything we needed with a comfortable king size bed, coffee and tea making facilities with tasty...

A very comfortable B&B in a beautiful house in a lovely Dorset village run by very friendly owners. Excellent attention to detail including providing fresh milk instead of the usual UHT!

the village of sandford orcas is lovely but we found the accommodation a bit minimalist. There was no butter - only some strange vegetable product - at breakfast. The coffee was poor and the towels were tiny. We would not go back

Our welcome to the Alders was warm and friendly. Room was spacious and well equiped, en-suite facility very good, very hot! Location ideal and extremely calm, be careful on the village roads, as these are quite narrow! Although no evening meals, we were advised that the village Public House served excellent meals, as was the case. A wonderful evening was...

We stayed here for one night for a wedding in the area. Sue sent accurate directions, kindly allowed us to arrive early. Excellent breakfast with local jams etc. Both John and Sue were very friendly and I would certainly recommend their b&b very highly. Extremely good value for money.

The Alders Bed & Breakfast in Sanford Orcas is just slightly north of Sherborne. It is very convenient to Sherborne, even though it may not seem so at first glance. We stayed there for 4 nights in September 2008 for the Ironman UK. The hosts - Sue & John Ferdinando - were so hospitable and kind. The breakfasts are wonderful...
