We booked the 'honeymoon suite'. The room was large and clean - but does need a revamp. Spa bathroom was good though. Very quiet when we visited and this could be confirmed, when looking for some food at 9.15pm, we were told the restaurant was closed. They did however make us some sandwiches, with a bag of crisps! There were...

Stayed at the Royal Chase in August 2015 for 2 nights with my son and his 3 children in 2 family rooms. Cannot speak highly enough of all aspects of this hotel. From reception to the restaurant to the rooms everything was spot on. Nothing was to much trouble for the friendly staff. Plenty of free parking space, well laid...

So many small things they I might otherwise have overlooked came to the surface when I realised that this hotel is not value for money. I paid £85 a night for room only and for that I expected a certain standard of accommodation. The entrance drive is potholed and the first impression of the hotel isn't good. The main door...

A pleasant location, lovely gardens and views across the hills around Shaftesbury, and a decent swimming pool, this hotel, famous for hosting Christine Keeler in the '60s, has a lot going for it. Decent sized rooms and a comfortable bed helped. However there a numbers of little things wrong - the decor is a little battered, the swimming pool is...

We stayed at the Royal Chase on a coach tour, and were looked after extremely well. Service was friendly and excellent, the rooms I saw were well-appointed and clean, and the food was excellent, much better than we expected for a coach party. Highly recommended!

There is much wrong with this hotel.BUT...We had a decent size and clean room with a very comfortable bed.We slept well with no intrusions noise wise even though there was a wedding party on.So a prerequisite of a hotel (clean comfortable and undisturbed nights rest) is met.No teaspoons in room.No biscuits on 2nd night. As a converted monastery this place...

The room was small but good enough for one night - the room was very hot and stuffy (it was a warm night) but there was a fan in the room The hotel has exercise classes and holds events in their function room but although I have stayed here several times I have never been disturbed by noise.

Stayed here again, this time as a solo traveller, I felt very comfortable and safe which is very important. I was in room 4 which is a good size twin room, it was in the older part of the hotel, very high ceilings and lots of character. Overlooked the front but I was not bothered by traffic noise. I had...

Stayed for one night. Check in quick and friendly. Room I had was large and was newly decorated although an old hotel. Sloping floors etc. character. Evening meal was very good and menu choice was not your bog standard stuff. Reasonable price too. Bed was very comfy and slept well. Did not have breakfast so cant comment on that. Thought...
