Not a fantastic long week-end. Booked a wonderful hotel in Milton Abbas for Thursday to Sunday, but wife taken seriously unwell on the Friday morning and rushed into Dorchester County Hospital, which is situated opposite the Sydney Arms. I spent most of Friday-Sunday to'ing and fro'ing from the hospital and the hotel, which we had to vacate on the Sunday....

I needed to find a place to stay in Dorchester and saw The Sydney Arms. As I was visiting my husband in hospital I decided to give this place a go and booked in for 3 nights. I was greeted by very friendly staff and immediately felt comfortable. This Pub is under new management and I met the Landlord. He...

Very clean, very comfortable and great staff. I enjoyed my stay, it is close enough to the town centre of Dorchester and for people who need to visit the hospital for a day or so it is right opposite, it's great value for money. I will miss the place...highly recommended

Stopped off to watch the football. Nice pub, decent beer, clean, friendly staff. Didn't want to eat, wish I hadn't bothered. It was vile. Never have the ham, egg and chips.it was cheap - and when it appeared I could see why. The ham was watery supermarket ham, wafer thin. The strawcut fries were overcooked and fried in old oil....

Whilst the sheets and room were clean. The room was very small as was the shower. Larger people note! Plenty of hot water. To get up in the morning to find scribbled note on door to pub which read"no breakfast owing to unforeseen circumstances." Not just one night but two nights! Not 3 star accommodation or treatment.

We stayed here, thankfully for only 1 night with 2 friends from Sweden. Both rooms were dirty - we had 12 dead flies amongst the cobwebs on just one window. The carpet had a number of stains, the shower was disgusting. In our friend's tiny en-suite the light must have been powered by a 1 watt bulb. We asked to...

Very good bed linen - excellent bath towels. And nice clean rooms. But the TV only worked in one of our 3 rooms - too late to bother the owner. No bedside lamp - not essential, but useful. Don't get a room over the bar unless you are watching the football with them ! Very helpful owner - Annmarie but I...

I'll start with the positives. Room was big. The two single beds were comfortable. Nice decor. There were clean towels. Cooked breakfast was nice. The negatives? When we arrived the male member of staff who showed us to our room failed to give us any info, such as when breakfast was. And he swore several times in front of myself...

Went here last night with some friends that were staying with us. We have been before for drinks as we do not live too far away and it's easy to walk. It is convenient and close to town and also a large local community, but it is never very busy, we decided last night why this might be!If you want...
