Excellent hotel. Helpful staff all very welcoming. And always a smile. Food enjoyable. Also parking available. And the sea View rooms well worth the extra.Only ten minutes from the beach. Russell Coates worth a visit.
We stayed here with a group of friends on a bed & breakfast plus evening meal deal. The hotel itself is lovely and the staff are charming but rather inexperienced and the service is very, very slow. Expect to wait at least half an hour for a pot of tea in their lounge. Very little choice of drinks if you are caffeine free - not cappicino or latte. The rooms are clean and comfortable but no bath towels on offer and only shower gel provided for the first night so make sure to take your own if you stay more than one night. We had lunch at the hotel on our second day. A few of us ordered jacket potatoes but had to send them back as they were uncooked. Unfortunately we were still charged for them and no offer of a reduction was offered! The final evening we were there the dinner was terrible! I ordered lamb cutlets and my serving was 1 cutlet which just consisted of fat. This was pointed out to the restaurant manager who said she would pass it on but no action was taken so maybe she didn't bother. The charge for the evening meal is £35 a head so I think i is not unreasonable to expect more than one lamb cutlet and for it to have some meat on it! The desert that evening was even worse. We ordered bread and butter pudding but what we got was dried up left over croissants from breakfast with a few bits of dried fruit, heated in the oven with a bit of instant custard poured over it. It was an absolute disgrace. The other evenings the food wasn't great but it was edible. I would point out that I have already contacted the hotel to say we weren't happy with the food but only got a "standard reply".…
Having had a great Christmas Party at the Miramar in 2021, we decided to go there again for our Christmas party in Dec 2022. Again the food was nice, the hotel is decorated beautifully at Christmas and the staff are lovely. We didn't think the DJs was as good this year, but it didn't stop our group from having a good dance and a great evening was had by all.
We had our Staff Christmas party at Hotel Miramar, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere. The staff are so helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The reception/Event staff particularly are so helpful.
We had a fantastic Christmas Party! The food was brilliant, the service was impeccable and everyone had a good evening! The only thing that let it down was the DJ was pretty awful but we all enjoyed laughing about the music he put on(we had the venga boys 3 times!) A lot of us booked rooms for the night and these were beautiful, clean and comfortable! We also had breakfast the next morning which was delicious and the staff were fantastic! All in all a very enjoyable Christmas party! We will definitely be back.
2nd time of partying at Christmas with friends at the Miramar Hotel. nicely decorated for Christmas. As before all staff were friendly, helpful and polite. The drinks on arrival while being seated was a nice touch. The meal its self was very good and the waiting staff were very efficient. The disco was great covering music for all ages. The rooms were clean, warm and had all that you needed for the stay. Breakfast was really nice with a wide choice to suit everyone. Will be booking again foe Christmas 2023.
The hotel is very nice but the food was disscusting.IBreakfast was £17.50 a person and if you wanted a omlette it was £3.50 extra. I ordered scramble eggs and to matoes. I was given a tiny egg and half a tomatoe.Even the waitress laughed when she gave it to me. Inthe evening dessert was bread and butter pudding. They gave you the dried coisants from breakfast with custard. I wont be going back. Its a shame because the staff are very nice.
The hotel is old fashioned in the best sense of that phrase. It provides hospitality and good food in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. It is well run with helpful and accommodating staff. Inevitably it appeals to an older clientele, and its absence of any spa or swimming pool might deter younger visitors. It is well positioned with pleasant grounds leading to the cliff top with lovely views of the sea, and the town centre is within easy reach. It also possesses a spacious lounge. Some of the bedrooms could do with some updating, and the lift is small and somewhat slow. There is a lovely large car park.
We enjoyed our family Christmas Party here, always so welcoming, decorative and homely. The food was excellent and we danced until midnight when we turned to our beds for a very comfortable night's sleep. The full english breakfast was the finishing touch in the morning. The staff are so friendly and assist anyway they can, will be looking forward to going again next year.
Our group of friends had a great time at the Christmas party night on the 17th. Everyone was helpful, pleasant, efficient and smiley. We had a great time and the food this year was exceptional. Everyone in our party commented on how good it was, (even the ones who like a moan). I had the lamb and I'd be happy to eat that every day. Compliments to the chef! The party atmosphere was great, and everyone in all the different groups were having a lovely time. We stayed the night and our rooms were very comfortable, just a shame we couldn't stay longer. Thank you Miramar.
