The good first- really wonderful staff couldn’t be more helpful We went Boxing Day for 2 nights so it was expensive so could tar our opinion Hotel is steeped in history and beautiful but needs some attention in a lot of areas Bar beautiful and lovely to sit in Sitting room sweet It was warm! Free parking Read the small- Breakfast is across a main rd in another hotel and with an 81 year old and 8 year old in pouring rain not a great combo Summer I should imagine is an issue too! We stayed in suites -Our bath shower really needs a whole new refit and no room service for second day Feels like they have started jobs on hotel and stopped Breakfast wasn’t great I feel like they are running on short staff but perhaps not surprising in this particular time so don’t want to be too harsh Pay less and worth a try…
We stayed for a night the night before Christmas Eve booking through the hotel directly and getting a fantastically discounted price on the ‘King’s suite’. It was my girlfriend, me and our 6 month old daughter. Management had told us in advance that they had no problem with our baby staying with us in the King’s suite, as it’s a room in its own wing so better for not disturbing any other guests. The receptionist was lovely, couldn’t have done more to help us settle in, the room was fantastic. See the photos. Breakfast was great. A quick 1 minute stroll to their sister hotel across the road for great coffee and and really well cooked breakfast options. My only criticism would be the ‘jacuzzi’ bath in the bathroom. Given the plumbing/ hot water system it would have taken hours to fill correctly, but that said, the shower was great. That is the only negative. From booking to staying it was a friendly, efficient , fun experience.…
Booked a two night stay here, as was on business, I arrived in Bournemouth early and worked, then we had an event so when I arrived at the hotel at 10.30pm it was closed. Not a soul around, locked and the number on the door rang out. To be fair the email confirmation did say there was a window for check in but i did miss it but having stayed in many hotels over the years, never have i stayed in an overnight unattended hotel who know people have not checked in but no-one answers the out of hours number. I had to book another hotel for the night, luckily it wasn’t hight of season and rooms were available. Spoke to ‘the manager’ next night, making sure to arrive before their 9pm curfew, he couldn’t have cared less, although i didn’t see the line on the confirmation about the curfew he said they text me, they absolutely didn’t! Wouldn’t change the date or offer a discount for another stay, over £100 wasted as he literally couldn’t be bothered discussing it. No understanding or effort just, no I can’t so that. The hotel itself, decent location and from the outside looks nice, inside its run down and needs work done but their service probably keeps the customers away so they don’t have the cash coming in to renovate or even give it a lick of paint. The room was clean, good size but the bathroom was cold with a drip for a shower, bath looked good, free standing and would have been impressive but looked like its been there since the manor was built, old and grubby and no way people would want to go in there. Breakfast was across the road at their sister hotel, much better looking hotel in a far better state or repair and lady at breakfast was lovely and helpful. Food nice. Given I’m in Bournemouth monthly and colleagues are too, there is a good amount of money spent on accommodation in the area every month, we wouldn’t recommend or book the langtry Manor. In fact I got it removed from our travel system. Better hotels in Bournemouth for the money as this place is not cheap, as they play on the manor and heritage of the house, that won’t keep guests paying to come back if the service and quality is terrible.…
We stayed for one night in the Kings room and had a lovely warm reception with a glass of bubbly. The hotel is full of character and the room it's self was very beautiful. Perfect for a romantic night away. Everything was good and we couldn't fault a thing. Breakfast across the road was made to order and delicious. We will definitely be back again.
The hotel is located within 5 minutes walk of the sea albeit access to the beach is a bit further due to the cliffs. The room I had was very comfortable and clean. The check in was quick and easy and Steve gave me some great tips for evening venues. The hotel has a very good atmosphere to it and has character. The only (minor) fault would be that breakfast is served in the sister hotel albeit the breakfast was excellent and it’s only across the road. I would definitely stay there again.
I have many times stayed and entertained at the Langtry but will not go again. The new management is rude and low grade. Standards have collapsed. The rudeness shown to members of my family is not acceptable. What a pity that this fine and historic establishment has now been ruined.
This was a lovely hotel and although only stayed one night it was really comfortable and enjoyable. Breakfast over the road in the sister hotel was really nice with all you could wish for. It was a shame we couldn't thank the reception on our way out as there was no one around to see us off but thank you anyway we had a good stay.
Me and the wife went to Bournemouth to watch Everton play Bournemouth in the carabao cup and stayed at Langtry manor in lillies room, we really enjoyed the room and also the breakfast. Would highly recommend to anyone else. The fella on reception was very pleasant and very helpful also 👍🏻
We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. The hotel is full of character, the rooms lovely and spacious, with generous tea and coffee making facilities. We were able to relax in the cosy lounge, coffee machine provided and enjoyed a good breakfast. Steve was very friendly and accommodating, even got to taste his delicious homemade ice cream.
We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary in September and had always planned to go back to Langtry Manor as this is where we got married. My husband made the booking and had asked for some Prosecco which had been brought to the room upon arrival. We stayed in the King's room which was very clean but a bit warm so we had to keep the window open overnight. The bathroom was also nice and clean! The jacuzzi bath took quite a long time to fill up but it was still very enjoyable and relaxing. We had such a good night's sleep in that room, it was very quiet and had minimal noise from the rest of the hotel. We were sad to learn that they no longer did food on site so we had to visit the sister hotel across the road for our breakfast - which was delicious! The staff there were really friendly too. We met the hotel manager who was very friendly and had a great sense of humour. We honestly cannot fault our stay here! Massive shout out to the Portuguese lady who worked on reception for making us feel so comfortable and welcome! We look forward to coming back again soon!!…
