Popped in for a morning coffee. Cappuccino overpriced and couldn't taste the coffee. Staff should be trained how to make a proper cappuccino. Should be a STRONG espresso with lots of froth, rather than a cup of hot milk. Not a patch on Costa or Starbucks. I understand that Totnes opposes Costa and other coffee chains but honestly that would...

Have visited this place on several occasions for food & drink over past few years when in Totnes area. Always excellent quality with great friendly service to match. Actually went to a ticketed cheese & wine event there this evening which was first class. Will definitely return here when next in the area. Highly recommended.

You may not think that a 2 day break in Totnes is much for a honeymoon but the friendly staff, great location, excellent food and warm welcome we received at the Seven Stars made us feel like royalty. We thank everyone we met there and will see you again

I have just returned from a long weekend away staying at this great place for three nights. From the outside it clearly has retained its original look but once inside its two different worlds. There is a very sleek restaurant at the rear and side of the Hotel and the Bar has been modernised to a very high standard. The...

Visited here for the first time, being a frequent visitor to the sister hotel in Dartmouth. Staff were friendly, knowledgable and helpful. The bar had a friendly atmosphere without being over crowded. Main meals were superb with fish cooked well and the chicken tangine being tasty. A good selection of wines were offered by the glass. The only disappointment was...

Spent an afternoon in the restaurant here. Only had a starter for a main as only wanted a snack, I went for the prawn starter which was incredibly tasty with wonderful chillies, garlic and brandy and some lovely sourdough bread to mop up the juices. Great selection of beers and very friendly service at the bar. Good came quick and...

I really like the Seven Stars. Its the heart of Totnes. A friendly, welcoming bar. It always used to be a place where you could grab a quick, cheapish meal before heading out for the night. However, recently, the standard of food has been dropping. They have introduced a new menu and it doesn't seem to be working. Last night,...

Only stopped for a bite and a pint lunchtime but my friend and I had a very pleasant time. I had a crab sandwich washed down with a couple of pints of New Lion Pandit, a really complex tasty IPA. My friend had a generously sized baked potato with beans and cheese with Sharp's Doom Bar. The beer cost top...

Stayed initially in room 16 but was kindly moved to Agatha Christie room cos of thin curtains and streaming streetlights. The bathroom is tired in room 16 as is the room. Clean and comfy however. Agatha Christie room all pomp and circumstance but smells of drains, much more opulent though and it is a historic building so can expect stuff...

We thank you for your feedback; room 16 is in fact now in the process now of being redecorated & updated. Any occasional reported drainage issues can be dealt with by us very quickly, I am sorry you found this in your new room but am sure it was addressed as soon as you reported it.. With a building as...

Our recent visit to the stars was a little disappointing. We are regular visitors and have had some lovely times there. The change in menu and prices is not a positive move. My steak, ordered as medium to well was more like medium rare. I have a royalty card and the staff are lovely but I'm not sure my visits...

It's sad to read you were disappointed with your last visit to us. The kitchen would have been more than happy to rectify the steak being a little under done for you so please do always mention to a member of staff if there is something you aren't 100% happy with on future visits. We hope to see you soon,...
