The Osborne Hotel is a 4star hotel and there are plenty of facilities, pool, gym etc. But the rooms are tired. Within the room there is a Safe, Ironing board and the usual tea and coffee selection. We had a room at the back of the hotel which had no view. The bed was comfortable

I had booked to use the restaurant for my partners birthday. We didn`t stay there as we live in Torquay. There was a party of 4. When we got there we were shown to our table by a nice waiter. A table by the window. It seemed a bit dark there, but we were looking forward to out

Thank you for your review of your meal. I'm sorry to hear that it didn't meet your expectations in certain areas. I have spoken to the Restaurant Manager, who has assured me the mistake with the bill was rectified on the evening. I apologise that we weren't able to offer your first choice of wine and steak, as we buy fresh meat, we do only stock certain amounts and the rib-eye proved very popular that evening. As the menu is still new, we are currently assessing the quantities required and most popular dishes. I hope this didn't affect your evening too much. We have addressed the damp in the entrance and are waiting for someone to come out and resolve the issue. As you will have noticed, we are currently undergoing a series of upgrades and renovations throughout the hotel. We hope to see you again in the restaurant where you can experience our usual high standards.

In error I recently made a reservation for the following day instead of 14 days later. I contacted the hotel to explain my mistake and asked for the reservation to be moved. They refused saying I had booked a non returnable rate. I lost over £100 and the management did not

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I'm very sorry you feel as though the management team seemed uncaring as we do put customer care at the top of our priorities. However, for parity to all customers, we do have to follow our hotel policies which, in this case, clearly state that the booking was non refundable and non transferable. We do offer a flexible rate option which can be amended (within set timescales) but you chose to book the non transferable rate on this occasion, having agreed to the terms and conditions. As much as I understand that you made a mistake, it would not be fair to other guests who have paid extra for the flexible rate if we agree to move non-transferable bookings. From the correspondence I have, the booking was made on the 25th and cancelled on the day of arrival on the 27th. All of our cancellation policies state that a minimum of 24 hours notice is required to amend bookings. We recommend contacting your travel insurance company to see if you can claim any money back through your policy with them. Whilst I share the upmost sympathy for your situation and understand that you may feel frustrated by having made an incorrect booking, I don't believe that we have provided less than our high standards of customer service by adhering to our policies. To ensure there are no errors should you wish to book with us again, please do call us directly on 01803 213311 and a member of the team can assist you.

We have just spent four days at the Osborne and shall not hesitate to book there the next time we visit Torquay. The Hotel occupies an enviable position in a lovely, historic crescent, in private grounds with stunning views over Torbay and private parking. All staff members

There are plenty of bars, cocktail lounges and pubs nearby. We are a 5 minute taxi or 15 minute walk into town, and along a beautiful coastal route where you will find plenty of places to try.

Joyce, you would need to ask the hotel regarding room for disabled with shower. I guess you would mean walk-in showers? Certainly, our room had a shower above the bath. Furthermore, there was an approximately 30mm 'step' between the room and the en-suite with black/yellow warning tape on the step. Not good I think for those with sight loss or old men like me who frequently go to the bathroom in the night and may have forgotten about the 'step'.

Sorry but you probably won't get an answer from the hotel. I filled in their comment leaflet and they didn't have the decency to reply after I gave them feed back. I felt the hotel facilities were tired.
