The hotel was really lovely and as a added touch there was a Santa in the window with a huge welcoming smile. The Receptionist was really nice and made us feel very welcome, the check in process was really easy. The room was huge with a separate bathroom off to one side. The hotel was like the tardis, much bigger...

The public areas of the Palace are very grand and reminiscent of its former glory. We particularly liked the guest lounge with cosy fire and comfortable seating areas. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet superb. Our room was OK - clean and had everything we needed. The shower was lovely and the bed comfortable....

They say you never get a second chance to make a first impression. An adage the owners of the Palace Hotel Torquay could do with acting on very soon. I booked two rooms in this hotel, relying heavily on the warm and palacios image I was treated to on the Internet. Unfortunately the reality fell well short of that expectation....

Me and my husband booked a night away - been here before for an afternoon tea. - when we arrived we were greeted very well and our room was ready - the room was very basic but comfortable, the heating was not on but their was a convector heater which soon heated the room. We did not eat in the...

A superb building and very grand except for the bedrooms! The food and service is first class. This is the fourth time I have stayed at this hotel and unfortunately this must have counted for nothing!! I was allocated the smallest worst bedroom I have come across with a radiator that did not work, and with the kitchen extractor fans...

My husband and I fancied a weekend away, when I saw the pictures and reviews of this hotel, my mind was made up. The staff were lovely all round. The chef who did my pancakes for me was very kind, and one waitress was particularly helpful when I did not like something I had ordered. The food was amazing, I...

This is the third time we have stayed at this hotel over a 10 year period and can honestly say it is still as good as ever The last two visits we have stayed in the Lambeth suite <room 301> the suite is very large with 3 separate rooms and large entrance hall and is well worth the extra cost...

This was the first time I had been to this hotel. I usually stay on the other side of Torquay. On entering the hotel I wasn't happy that smokers stand right outside the main door to smoke, needs sorting out.. The reception was nice as were the staff, But once you get into the hotel,ie , the corridors, its all...

I attended conferences in this hotel many times and stayed a few times too - so I feel quite affectionate towards the Palace. Its set in wonderful gardens with a walk down to the sea in a beautiful cove. Unfortunately it is looking a bit tired. My room was cold as the heating is not effective for the size of...
