For some reason Plymouth hotels seem very expensive so we were glad to find The Grosvenor at a slightly cheaper price when we were visiting our daughter at Uni. However there was little else that was cheap about the hotel: our Standard Double room was comfortable and clean and we had a good night's sleep. The communal areas are very...

We stayed in a premium room on the 1st floor, with a side view window of the sea. The road the hotel is on was quiet and the room we were in faced the road. We arrived at 12 noon but were told we couldn't check-in until 2pm, which I was a little peeved at as we had travelled down...

Thank you so much for your very informative review. It was pleasing to read that on the whole you appeared to have enjoyed your stay with us. But to address one of your main points: We advertise everywhere that our standard check in time is at 2pm and we have to stick to this for a couple of reasons. The...

We stayed for one night as part of a Birthday weekend away. I managed to secure one of the few parking spaces at the back of the hotel and we had a Superior room on the first floor of the hotel, overlooking the road. The room was clean, reasonably well appointed and comfortable. The only downside was the curtains not actually...

Many thanks for taking the time to review your stay with us. It's always useful to view the customer experience through the guests eyes, so thank you for your informative write up. Interesting to hear your comments about the curtains. All of our curtains were made to order, with the addition of a blackout lining for exactly the purpose of...

The fact this hotel is currently riding high in the TripAdvisor ratings probably says more about the quality of other establishments in Plymouth than The Grosvenor itself. The City is in dire need of a decent boutique hotel. Despite obvious efforts to fill the gap The Grosvenor doesn't quite hit the mark. My "Penthouse Double" was no more than an...

Firstly, many thanks for taking the time to leave a review. From reading your constructive review I can see that you weren't overly impressed with your time spent with us, so please allow me to formally apologise that we didn't meet your expectations. You are quite right when you say that Plymouth is in desperate need for some top end...

Comfortable well furnished bedrooms and reasonably priced hotel with efficient helpful staff. Restaurant only provides a full breakfast menu only but an excellent choice of nearby restaurants. Limited free parking but if you find a space in a parking meter slot outside you can get a ticket from reception for £3.00 for all day

A good hotel that I have now stayed in a couple of times. Nice staff, clean and comfortable rooms and beds. A couple of things let this place down: 1/ The rooms are very dark. All bulbs are the economy type and they need to have a higher wattage fitted. 2/ The breakfast is served in a basement dinning room....

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. It's always so useful to get feedback, however constructive, to enable us to keep improving. To address your observations... 1) Since your review I have been and looked at the lighting in each of our bedrooms and it has highlighted that some of our rooms could be lit more brightly. Our...

Stayed here for one night with my partner and toddler in early February during a week visiting the area and it was one of the highlights of our trip. The staff were attentive without being intrusive and their relaxed but professional attitude creates a pleasant ambiance throughout the hotel. Our room was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated, quiet, huge and most...

Thank you so much for the kind and complimentary review. I'm so pleased that you and your family enjoyed your stay with us in the Grand Suite. That room only opened in June last year as part of our new extension and is proving very popular. Thanks again and hope to see you all again soon. Paul Bennett Owner

Stayed for one night in superior room. Hotel appears to be newly decorated and very clean with staff who are friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated in a quiet street and even on the street side the only sound was the seagulls!! Breakfast was hot and tasty with plenty of choice.. I would definitely stay again when next in...

Stayed two night in the grand suite last weekend. Turned up at 830pm to be welcomed with a smile, efficient check and up to the room which was spotless. Thanks for leaving a really complimentary review.
