Will not be returning to this b&b. Very abrupt manner from host, took balance from debit card without my knowledge. In a party of eight with four rooms, only one room half decent. New pillows definitely needed in all rooms used. Luxury room didn't even have a fixed head shower.

Had a great week annual family holiday in Lynmouth at "the captain's house". Nice friendly atmosphere in an amazing historic house right on the river side. We couldn't fault it. 3 generations of our family enjoyed staying there and will definitely be booking again next summer. So much to see and do, we were spoilt for choice. Well done Captain...

Room clean, vintage style. We went for a weekend in Devon in February, the room looked like warm and cosy, but we were very cold, fortunately followed other reviews regarding this b&b, we took a blanket with us, good idea if you decide to go there when it is cold. Bathroom clean. Facilities fine.

We enjoyed a lovely week at this well appointed B&B. The hosts Clifford & Josie were friendly & accommodating. Clifford gave us information on where to go each day & the special routes for me being disabled

After a wet and windy day exploring the local town, we spotted the captains house across the river which looked very appealing. We were a family of six with one OAP, all ready for a bite to eat and a well deserved hot drink, approached the front door, rang the bell and waited only then to be greeted by an...

Had a wonderful time in a perfect setting run by perfect hosts. Clifford and Josie where very friendly and treated us very well indeed. The room was wonderful and we had our own balcony. I would highly recommend either staying there or at least just stopping for a cream tea.

a long weekend at The Captains House was an anniversary surprise booked for us by our daughter who regularly stays there. Gorgeous sea-side Village, nice friendly hosts, the guesthouse is truly a gem on the riverbank. Clean and tidy. And generous breakfast.

Very warm and friendly B&B. Love the old fashioned style. We stayed in a double room with private bathroom on ground floor. Very clean and comfortable. T.V. Shower and heated towel rail. Breakfast was excellent! The owners were both very welcoming and helpful. The only downside to the area was no phone signal but to be honest it was a...

Lovely location just minutes away from the centre of the village with picturesque views of the river. The accommodation was what you would expect of the traditional B&B which was actually great. There were no particularly modern touches or decor so took you a little back in time. The B&B was clean and had a friendly atmosphere and the host...
