Four of us stayed for one night and whilst the food and drink were very good (see the separate review) the accommodation left a lot to be desired. Being a dog-friendly hotel shouldn't mean that the bedrooms smell strongly of dogs - which they did ... very strongly. It would put me off staying there again which is a shame...

Stayed here for 4 nights, made very welcome, we ate here in the evenings and the food was lovely, all home made and good portions. It looks like they change the specials menu regularly so you should always find something that you enjoy. The breakfast is also very good, the lady that serves breakfast asked us what we would like...

Over a week, had several meals here. Excellent food and value. The landlady does all her own food and very good. Would definitely recommend trying a meal here. It's dog and child friendly. We stay in the area in cottages regularly, self catering, but will definitely eat here again.

We had an early evening meal here with our young daughter. The Village Inn is family friendly, we had good service and great food (large portions which beat us all!). Would definitely recommend a visit.

The bar staff are really friendly and happily discussed the merits of the different real ales on offer! Our room was very clean - fairly basic but at £30pp a real deal. Breakfast was late as they forgot the clocks turned forward, but it was lovely when it arrived.

As one of a number of clergy visiting Lynmouth for a Chapter meeting, (business get together). It was a real joy to be welcomed so very warmly by Bev & Mark into the Village Inn, & what a transforming experience we all had. Initially, one or two of our group visited for lunch one afternoon. To say the food was...

We stayed for two nights on a recent family holiday to Devon. The food was good, it's in a very convenient location and for the area the price is very cheap. However, it goes to show you get what you pay for. We were staying in one of the rooms on the first floor and the landlord had a lock...

We held a concert in Lynmouth at the Pavilion and took the band to The Village Inn for an early tea. It was the only place serving food all day... and what food it was! Lamb shanks, huge burgers, epic fish and chips, and a ploughmans that would keep several plough men fuelled all day. So good that we returned...

Popped in this lovely little pub up a side street surrounded by shops in lynmouth. Welcomed pleasantly by the landlord who was very helpful with helping decide drinks and food. Made you feel very welcome and had a cracking sense of humour also. I ordered a thatchers cider from tap which was lovely and my partner had a half pint...
