A B&B in an interesting historic building in a quiet street of Exeter. We had a room with twin beds on the 1st floor, tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean. Everything has been recently renovated. Friendly owners and good service, good breakfast in a sunny breakfast room. Two private parking spaces (5 Pounds extra), otherwise on-street parking. Might be a bit...

We were lucky to stay at this lovely guest house for two nights as part of a tour to Devon and Cornwall . A delightfully restored old building with great history and delightful hosts. Very comfortable room with a view over the 17 century church and part of the graveyard, which made for very quiet neighbours! The breakfast provided was...

Not sure if I found this place welcoming?.. we were advised about the times for breakfast, also we needed to be at breakfast for a certain time for a English breakfast... We arrived at breakfast possibly a few minutes late, to be told the 'grill' is switched off ? as well it needed cleaning... this spoilt staying here.. i have...

Thank you for your review. I am sorry you feel your stay with us was spoilt due to breakfast. With regard to breakfast, we made it clear on your arrival the times for breakfast. We also made it clear that we stop taking orders for the English Breakfast, vegetarian breakfast and bacon sandwich 15 minutes before breakfast finishes to which...

Beautifully decorated old town house. We stayed in the King room which was spacious, warm and well stocked with tea and coffee. Room was comfortable and breakfast delicious. Would definitely stay again.

Thank you for taking time to write a review. I hope you enjoyed the cooked vegan breakfast (I think you did as the plate was completely empty when you had finished). I am pleased you liked the room and small touches we make for our guests (such as cafitiere, etc). We look forward to your return.

Great location with a great host. Showed me all the important sights. The ensuits are neat, the rooms warm. The house is situated between center and Davids Station. I recommend the house a 100 percent.

Thank you for writing a review on our B&B and saying you would recommend us 100%. We are very happy you enjoyed your stay and hope you had a wonderful time (despite the weather on some days). If you ever return to Exeter, we would be more than happy for you to stay.

Very clean, very friendly worth every penny. Bedding very white, looks like brand new furniture as though they put the room together just for us. They accommodated a disabled lady and 2 children in a very spacious room although due to the period property there is a couple of steps into the hotel and that's the only negative I could think...

Neatly located on St David's Hill, a short walk from the centre of Exeter and a 15 minute (uphill) walk from St David's station. We received a warm welcome on arrival and at breakfast, which was extremely good. A choice of cereals and fruit followed by porridge/omelettes or any combination of full English. The bacon was lean and moist, sausage...

We stayed here over Christmas and quite frankly it couldn't have been better. From the moment we arrived to when we left we were made to feel welcome and were treated royally. So, to elaborate: we were allowed to park in the designated parking spot at no extra charge and our rooms were upgraded as we were the only guests...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Built around 1870 for the neighbouring St David's Church, the Victorian Grade II Listed Townhouse has undergone refurbishment bringing the guest house up to date with period and contemporary features. The Townhouse is set in a quiet corner of Exeter city centre yet just a few minutes stroll from the stunning Cathedral, the Royal Albert Memorial Museum, the Quayside, shopping centres, pubs, restaurants, university and train station. Our nine stylish rooms range from singles to kingsize (all with the exception of one single room are en-suite) and have free wifi, flat screen LCD TVs, USB charger sockets, double glazed windows, Fair Trade teas, coffees and biscuits, crisp white bed linen, complementary toiletries, fluffy towels, hairdryer and an amazing breakfast (not our words, but those of guests who have stayed with us) included in the price of the room. An iron and ironing board is available. Resident J-zone street parking permits free of charge (1 car per room per night, additional parking permits are available at £3 per permit) or guaranteed off street parking at £5 (only two guaranteed parking spaces). If you book direct with us, there is early check ins available (from 12 noon, can be earlier if agreed). If your room is not ready, luggage can be left with us before check in. We can also look after your luggage up to 1pm after check out (£3 per item thereafter). We will also give you a box of chocolates to enjoy in your room. If you book using a 3rd party (i.e. not direct with us, but though a booking agency), check in is strictly from 3pm and we cannot look after your luggage if you arrive in Exeter before 3pm. We can look after your luggage after check out, but this will cost £3 per item. We want your stay at the Townhouse to be as comfortable and memorable as possible and we are on hand to make sure your needs are met. In saying that, we would advise that the Townhouse is a guest house and not a 24 hour service hotel and you will be a guest staying in our house. We have been awarded the 2016 Certificate of Excellence by Tripadvisor and the Food Standards Agency has awarded us 5 stars - the highest possible food hygiene rating. ... more   less
