We held our wedding in Southernhay House at the end of May and we stayed there the year before to see if we liked it. They can cater for everything including the ceremony, albeit for modest sized parties, we were only 16. It's a beautiful hotel in a stunning setting, unfortunately a little overlooked on the back, the garden looks...

We had a lovely stay and were treated to great food & drinks, friendly staff and a fantastic room. There is also secret garden by the cocktail bar which was nice to enjoy on a sunny evening. The food was excellent and the barman had the right skills :)

We've just got back from a lovely, relaxed one night stay at Southernhay. We had Cotton and our daughter had Spice, both good size rooms. Cotton has the large roll top bath, and it's a sunny room with views of the Square, but no wardrobe (only a few hooks). I can only reiterate all the positive comments made earlier. Excellent...

This hotel was a good choice for our stay in Exeter. The location is very central, close to the prettiest parts of the city. It is small enough to have a personal feel. We experienced a friendly welcome and our room was nicely decorated, if a little tight on bathroom space. Fine for a short stay. We managed to get...

We had dinner here with friends as part of a celebration and it was perfect, my husband and I stayed over and it was a real treat. The staff were faultless, they anticipated our every need. The cocktails were amazing, the food divine, the setting incredible. All in all we couldn't have asked for more.

My husband and children put their heads together for a birthday surprise and linked a stay in a central hotel in Exeter with VIP tickets to the food festival. This beautiful old Georgian building is now a fabulous boutique hotel where quality is obviously valued at every level. I was not totally surprised to find out it is owned by...

We stayed one night in this lovely small hotel, very close to the centre. The room was very spacious, comfortable and cosy. It had a superb shower. The breakfast was excellent, with a lot of choice. The hotel staff was very welcoming, helpful and kind. We would surely stay here again if we come back to Exeter.

Our room was beautiful - I had been + checked it out before booking. Slightly disappointed that the hotel knew it was our wedding night, but didn't do anything to mark the occasion. A bottle of Prosecco in the room or something similar would have been nice. Only other gripes would be that there were no biscuits to have with...
