This is a charming hotel. We had a sumptuous deluxe room (11) well decorated and beautifully clean. Menu really good and very reasonable prices. A friendly and welcoming hotel with lovely staff. Much more character than the usual chain. Highly recommend to anyone wanting something different and individual.

A colleague booked this hotel as we had a couple of meetings organised in Exeter and needed accommodation. It was chosen for its proximity to our meetings and price. What we hadn't bargained for was the exceptional service. We travelled down in the evening from Leeds and realised that, as a result of a 30 minute delay on the train,...

Monday 5th Dec 16, 39 of us decended on the Gypsy Hill hotel for our festive meal, brilliantly organised by the one and only Terry. What can I say, the staff were delightful with nothing too much trouble and the food fantastic and plentiful! They catered well for all of our dietary needs with little very little fuss. All in...

Really friendly staff who couldn't have been helpful, the buffet food was really good and served promptly when requested. The lovely gardens were child friendly and easily accessible. Good location here the M5 and A30 with easy car parking.

Really enjoyed our weekend break at the Gypsy hill, excellent standard I'd say at the top end of the 3 stars, and probably the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. Staff couldn't of been more helpful, and breakfast was Delicious. We will definitely return.

We stayed in the four poster room, which by most hotel standards was huge and very comfortable. The hotel was a mix of old fashioned comfort and exceptional service .It beats the modern clinical hotels hands down, and the staff make all the difference. Nothing was too much trouble. Yes you do have to drive through an industrial area for...

We decided as we were traveling from London to Exeter for a birthday party in the Gipsy Hill Hotel that we would make a long weekend of it and book 3 nights there . So glad we did - what a friendly welcome- food really good, and we ( five of us) were generally well looked after. The party on...

We recently stayed for one night on our way to Cornwall, the hotel is within easy reach of the M5. We stayed in the Coach House which was warm and welcoming and had everything we needed for an overnight stay (pity there was a terrible smell of cigarette smoke in the building) As previous reviewers have said the surroundings are...
