Bayard's Cove Inn is a quaint combined bar, brasserie and cafe adjacent to the ancient and picturesque Bayard's Cove. On our arrival for an evening meal we were immediately made to feel welcome - we were greeted with a warm, friendly smile from the waitress and given a choice of table. The place was dimly lit and the decor simple...

We have just returned from a couple of days staying at this lovely hotel right on the banks of the river Dart. We stayed in the Mountbatten room which was beautifully decorated and so comfortable. Staff were excellent and so friendly and food amazing including the fantastic breakfast that we certainly tucked into each day. Only downside was they had...

This small hotel is located very close to the lower ferry and is very convenient for the town. The hotel is full of charm, very clean and modern. The staff could not be more helpful. Very good food, particularly the breakfast. Would not hesitate to book if we return to Dartmouth in the future.

Visited Bayards cove in February for lunch as a family. Very friendly staff and excellent choice on the menu. Great gluten free options on menu. Very reasonable and lovely to see gluten free desserts. Will definitely be going again

The room was very good with a view from the window of Bayards cove. Breakfast and service was very good and friendly. The location is brilliant, just out of the centre of the the town(by about 300yards or metres if you are younger than me). Right next door to a good pub that serves real ale and good food(including pizzas)....

Located just behind the river front this lovely Inn was the perfect stop off for lunch. Cosy olde worlde charm and a nice feel. Limited menu on a sunday but we all found something we liked. The food was a while coming but it was tasty and well presented. Not too expensive either so overall great value on the whole.

A lovely find, tucked away in the picturesque area of Bayards Cove. We really enjoyed our dinner - starting with a good old traditional prawn cocktail, followed by fresh mussels for main. It is a wonderful building, beautifully decorated, with little coves of its own for a cosy night in! Recommended!

This was a birthday present arranged and booked by my partner Georgia Whelan. We stayed in The Nelson suite which was delightfully presented with super king size bed, two sofas and occasional tables, plus another bedroom with king size cabin bed. We took my little Bichon Frise dog and he was well catered for, with his own bed, bowl and treats...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This small friendly hotel is one of Dartmouth’s oldest and most interesting buildings. It was originally constructed as a Tudor merchant's house and would have been a welcome sight when the Pilgrim Fathers stopped off at Bayards Cove on their way to America in August 1620. The hotel is conveniently situated in Bayards Cove in the centre of this lovely town, with the market and main shopping area only a short level walk away. Guests are sure to enjoy the unique character of the hotel and its thoughtfully refurbished luxury rooms, all of which have freeview, televisions and DVD players, and some also enjoy views over the water of the cove. ... more   less
