This lovely Hotel right on the Harbour in St Mawes spares no attention to detain in its furnishings and decor.. It is beautifully decorated and has slight New England feel about it.. The Terrace is a lovely place to sit and enjoy a cup of tea with cornish scones and cream,, a glass of wine or just enjoy te view..

Love this hotel. The room was amazing. Great decor. Stunning view. Excellent weekend getaway. I could live there. The breakfast was plentiful and included. The staff was extremely helpful in providing day trip advice and booking cars to take us to restaurants at night on the narrow dark roads.

However we heard that a new owner had spent a fortune and totally transformed the Idle Rocks we thought we would give it another go! Wow we were not disappointed it is truly stunning. Completely refurbished with...

A stylish hotel offering exceptional service. We visited the weekend before Christmas for 2 night break. The hotel was quiet which was fab for us as we were upgraded too. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Idle Rocks has the most enviable location in St Mawes, overlooking the harbour with views across the River Fal to Falmouth. Our 19 bedrooms, most with stunning vistas over the bay, have been thoughtfully designed, each having their own unique identity with fabulous fabrics and decor that leave you in no doubt that you are by the sea. After a long day lazing on the beach, our south facing terrace is the perfect place to relax, have a long drink, and watch the world go by. You may even see your dinner being landed on the harbourside. The Idle Rock's restaurant, run by our head chef, Guy Owen, is a celebration of Cornwall; showcasing a range of fabulous produce that has been sourced locally using only seasonal fresh ingredients. In many cases it will have been swimming right on our doorstep only a few hours earlier and while the food is of the very highest standard our setting is very relaxed. ... more   less
