This was always our first choice for that 'special' meal to celebrate a birthday or anniversary. Sadly it is now off our list as the food/menu is not what it used to be. Since they abandoned the format of 2 or 3 courses at a special price we have noticed a falling-off in the quality of the food. Don't get...

Lovely stylish large elegant rooms with beautiful views of the harbour and lighthouse. Many pleasant walks along the front. Food varied and simply top notch. The chef laid on a buffet lunch every day with tasty local specialities. Fish dishes, local pies and ice creams. Dinner was varied; fish dishes were exceptionally tasty. Most indulgent! A wonderful place for a...

It was the second time that we came here; the first time in Sept 2012 and now again in Winter 2013. We booked the large suite with the terrace facing the sea. Located at the promenade, nearby the old castle it is conveniently located in the quiet St Mawes, which on November is largely tourist free (but still busy with...

Coffee on the terrace in the sunshine at the Tresanton - one of life's affordable pleasures. Fresh croissants, excellent espresso and cappuccino, prompt and friendly service and a view across the water. We frequently have lunch or dinner here and are never disappointed. Highly recommended.

My wife and I went back to St Mawes to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and walked up the hill, attracted by the flags flying outside this hotel, looking for a place for lunch. We were initially impressed by the smart, white, jacketed staff. Shown by a friendly waitress to our table we were treated to a delicious meal -...

We booked the best suite in the hotel for a child free weekend away. The suite was fantastic as were all the staff from start to finish. The only criticism that we can think of is that the towels were small and not particularly fluffy but apart from that our weekend was fantastic. We have already booked again for the...

It's a mark of the best places that they maintain their standards on quiet days in November. We had lunch in the restaurant, having dined here a number of times before. The food was superb and the service was warm, friendly and attentive. High standards as ever, a joy to visit.

We spent three nights here in early November. The hotel was not full and we loved the peaceful atmosphere. We were extremely well looked after; the staff were definitely the best in any hotel we've stayed in. Each day our rooms were done while we were at breakfast, so we didn't return to an unmade bed, and the restaurant staff...

We spent a relaxing four days at the Tresanton in late September. The service was spot on and the staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. We mentioned we liked the table we were given for our first breakfast and the staff made sure we were always offered this same table...

We stayed in October for one night and it was superb. The staff are kind, helpful and very professional. there is no elitism, just a desire to do a good job. I love it when people have a good sense of humour and a gentle way about them...This is definitely the case at Tresanton. Room 8 is lovely and has...
