Stayed here for three nights, together with a friend, in August. Tim and Amelia are relatively new to the B & B market in St. Mawes, but they are keen to do all they can to make their guests feel at home - and we certainly did ! We loved the nautically themed rooms, which were spotlessly clean - and...

What made our stay 5 star though was Tim and Amelia's willingness to go beyond the call of duty to help us out. We went diving early on sunday morning, and they willingly did a full English breakfast for us at 7.30 - an hour and a half before the normal breakfast time. We really appreciated this as the breakfast...

I recently stayed at Nearwater for 3 nights with my wife and my Parents. It was our first time in St Mawes, which is a lovely area. The Nearwater B&B was a really nice place to stay. We stayed in the 'Cabin' room, and my parents in 'Percuil' both of which are very comfortable, and fitted out out very nicely...

Room was spacious and tastefully decorated with lovely linens and very trendy shower room. Timing at breakfast was slightly uncoordinated but fine overall. Hosts were friendly but perhaps a little too anxious to please - I prefer a more laid back approach in a B&B that makes me feel like a guest rather than a customer.

We spent 2 nights in Nearwater and it was truly lovely. Tim and Amelia are very friendly and welcoming hosts who were happy to offer advice on places to visit and local restaurants (as well as chip shops!) The decor throughout is nautically-themed, modern and stylish; the bedroom well-equipped and comfortable. The quality of the breakfasts is high and if...

Overall, my experience of St Mawes, staying in Nearwater was thouroughly enjoyable. The hospitality was top notch and the owners made me feel very welcome, especially when I was given tea at when greeted. My room was immaculate and very smart, with a sense of calm and very light. I could have easily taken the adorable dog home, I am...

All the reviews on here, good and bad, resonate with me. The owners are on the surface pleasant enough but on occassion you do get the impression that it is they who are doing you a favour not the other way round. The dachshund dog Musto is a horrid yappy smelly thing (& I'm a dog lover).  That said the...

This was a very special reunion for the family so wanted to stay somewhere special and thought Nearwater looked just the place. Sadly it was not as it was spoiled from the beginning by some of the rude and miserable family members who made us feel like we were an inconvenience. A friendly Hi or good morning was met with...

These were difficult customers for us, we have never had people party in their rooms before. On their second night at 22:15 I politely asked if they would move from "Summers room" to "Percuil" their other room if they wished to continue drinking and chatting as there is a guest room immediately below Summers room and the guests in there...

To call Near Water a B&B doesn't really describe how wonderful it is! Tim & Amelia are charming hosts with a lovely family. The rooms are spotlessly clean, which considering how full they are most of the time some 5* hotels cannot mantain! We loved the well stocked pantry on the 1st floor...I want one at home! The daily specials...

...because sooner or later Amelia and Tim will realise that they could be charging double. Nearwater simply amazing. Really - it is. St Mawes is a lovely saling and fishing based-town and there is no-where else that could make you feel like a local, as Nearwater. Amelia and Tim made exceptional hosts - nothing was too much trouble. They know...
