The St Mawes is pricey at £250 - 275 per night in the season but we were lucky enough to get if for £150 per night in March. The staff here are very friendly and helpful and the hotel and bar is very clean. The food is also particularly good although breakfast on day 2 was mostly fruit (there is...

The St Mawes Hotel A Medium rare steak turned out to be very well done Front of house staff willingly offered another steak Unfortunately after a wait of another 30 mins the second steak was presented even more cooked than before. Fortunately I had food in the fridge at home The nearby Victory has a Monday steak night with two...

We stayed on a Friday in March, without having made a reservation. The room, facing the sea and overlooking the quay, was beautifully decorated. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the evening meal was quite superb. The menu choice was not huge, but the pork belly was spot on and the fish pie is a real winner. We would have...

We ate here on a wet and blustery Tuesday in March. The whole town was quiet and we were happy to find a good restaurant open for business. The menu is compact whish I prefer as it proves you are not being fed a long list of frozen / microwave meals. My colleague enjoyed a very good fish pie, well...

The St Mawes Hotel has come on leaps and bounds since it transferred under new ownership - by the same couple who run the upscale Idle Rocks Hotel. It is now serving food - and with choice more restricted out of season (Watch House restaurant is shut) then it is all the more valuable, The interior is comfortable & inviting....

We skipped breakfast and went for lunch at the St Mawes Hotel. It was amazing...tender rare beef, great potatoes, a delicious jus and a perfect Yorkshire to put it in. As the sun came out we dined watching the waves, eating amazing food. 5 stars performance from a welcoming staff in a beautiful room.

Just called in for a coffee and a tea. Very welcoming and good service. It is well worth a visit. The breakfast bakery items were very fresh and delicious. I regret I have not stayed there, so cannot comment on the hotel, but it looks clean and well run.

After 7 years in St Mawes we finally got round to eating here after its acquisition and refurb. The ambience is nice and cosy. The menu is quite limited but enough to choose from. All our meals were good. It makes a nice change from the pub venues in St Mawes.

St Mawes has more to it than meets the eye. The St Mawes Hotel is a good example of that. Beautiful decor, lovely food and attentive service. There is also a balcony to survey the harbour. Really good spot.

A real treat in November to sit on the balcony of this wonderful hotel and drink wine in the sun - that was what we did. We loved our sea facing room and a shame to stay here without booking one of these rooms as the view is fantastic. You can hear the sea whilst lying in bed.
