Almost everything about the St Mawes hotel lived up to what we'd seen online - great location, beautiful room with generous amenities, delicious breakfast & a lovely atmosphere. What exceeded all our expectations were the staff. You hope that hotel staff will be pleasant & helpful, not always the case of course. The staff at the St Mawes set a...

I absolutely loved this hotel. Refurbished last year, beautifully done, well laid out, felt at home, staff excellent. Last time I stayed at The Tresanton but I much preferred this hotel and it was a lot cheaper. The tresanton has lost its edge in my opinion and I would advise this hotel instead. The manager is excellent and knows how...

We had a wonderful 2 nights stay in this beautifully decorated hotel, with a good size room and very comfortable bed. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a lovely (continental style with plenty of choices) with the option of ordering from the kitchen too. Just across the road are regular boat trips to Truro or Falmouth. We would...

Went in here to get out of the rain. Food was good and the service was good. As like many places now it was given the shabby chic look and there is room to sit outside overlooking the traffic.Puddings seem poor value for money though.

Had a wonderful lunch on the upstairs balcony with the fantastic view over the water - couldn't be better on a warm sunny day - wished we could have stayed for longer but we will be back soon - felt like we were in France!

Dear jwc2, Thank you for your recent review following your visit for lunch. I'm pleased to hear you managed to secure a spot on the upper deck terrace, as it does afford the best views. St Mawes has often been compared to the south of France so we can appreciate your sentiments. We look forward to hopefully welcoming you back...

In Cornwall on business and My partner and I visited for the first time for dinner. Dear Bob, Thank you very much for your review following your visit for dinner. We are pleased to hear how much you enjoyed the food and atmosphere. We were very disappointed at not being able to access this establishment due to lack of a ramp from the roadside. I would have liked to review the St Mawes Hotel as it looks very attractive and the menu is mouthwatering. Sadly they have no provision for guests with disabilities unless you wish to sit outside on the pavement, which is only an option in good weather. Last year they were developing a ramped access. Whatever happened to that idea?

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Set alongside the harbour, in the heart of the village, the St Mawes Hotel has a lively and informal feel, without compromising on taste and style. The warmth of the team, beautifully designed rooms, lively bar restaurant and terrace makes the luxury sea view hotel a place that will draw locals and visiting guests back time and time again. The seven bedroom boutique hotel has bright and airy luxurious guestrooms. Decorated by owner Karen Richards, the interiors will capture the nautical views of the village and harbour. Each room echoes Karen's signature style, a marriage between traditional coastal culture and contemporary design. All front facing rooms offer spectacular sea views and look out over the harbour. The bar restaurant at the St Mawes Hotel is a convivial escape to enjoy authentic quality dishes that will showcase the best locally sourced Cornish ingredients. Menu options include both smaller and larger dishes based on the wonderful produce from the sea, alongside stone baked pizzas and daily specials. Alfresco tables provide an idyllic location to make the most of sunny days and enjoy the spectacular views of the water. Guests staying at the St Mawes Hotel will appreciate the comfortable lounge, complete with compact library and log wood fire place for cosy winter days, with nautical inspired interiors and unspoilt views of the harbour.
