Delightful hotel, impressive attention to detail in so many areas - classy + simple + comfortable decor, very good breakfast (great teapots!), owners and staff are really helpful and genuinely friendly, always had time for you. Terrific location (next to fab beach, easy short walk to town centre). A lovely stay, definitely going back, very highly recommended.

We stayed at the Primrose Valley as a last minute get away for Easter - and we certainly stumbled on a gem of a place. We were greeted by staff in this humble-on-the-outside B&B who gave us all the info we needed (even tho we are seasoned travellers to St Ives) and showed us to the room. We stayed in...

Top marks: one of the nicest places we've ever stayed. The hotel was thoughtfully renovated 2 years ago; the rooms are filled with light and are modern and very comfortable. We stayed in Room 1, on the 1st floor, which has a nice sitting room and large bedroom. The food is great! Breakfasts are varied and excellent quality, there's home-baked...

First time in St Ives, we booked the Primrose Valley Hotel as it offered a balcony and sea views. The price also included breakfast. When we arrived we were welcomed by one of the owners, who gave us a map with the best spots to eat and go. Our room was lovely and clean, nice decor, big balcony and beautiful...

Stayed in room 8 for 2 nights. Lovely spacious room despite being the smallest in the hotel. Lovely bathroom. Nice quiet hotel that is only about 5 minutes from the center of st Ives and the bus station, and 3 minutes from the train station. Also a lovely quiet beach just outside. Breakfast was great, so much choice with a...

We had the chance to escape to St Ives, sadly only for one night on this trip, and were intending to travel by train for a change. Looking for a hotel not far from the station, we were able to get a room here. We struck gold. This hotel is pretty much right next to the station, in a quiet...

Great sea view and comfortable and quiet room. Breakfast was excellent and made to feel very welcome. Look forward to returning in the near future. Local restaurants just a short walk away the beach is just a stones throw away. Well worth a visit.

We stayed here for 2 nights and honestly I couldn't fault it. The staff were so friendly and helpful and told us all about the local sights. The rooms were gorgeous and we had a balcony that overlooked the sea. It's not as central as some of the other hotels in St Ives, but we liked that. The breakfast was...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Primrose Valley Hotel has been a part of the St Ives community since 1908. It is a delightful 9 bedroom Edwardian building idyllically located only seconds away from Porthminster beach and just a flat five minute walk to the Harbour and centre of St Ives town. With its convenient location, on site parking and homely interior we believe it's an ideal place to spend time away and to re-engage with the simpler pleasures of life. ... more   less
