Arrived in St Ives late afternoon, a quick ring around found us this place, a deal was struck & off we went. Rooms were not a bad size, bathroom had no privacy unless window blind was closed! Had been cheaply made over & was rather cold in January! Reception was nice, but not manned when we stayed, you had to call for somebody to attend. Breakfast was not great, the dining room was Ok. Sadly, being town centre on a saturday night & my room at the front of the Hotel the revellers woke me in the early hours, not a fault of the Hotel, more the location. The pub downstairs with live music until 10-11pm was more of an issue but to be fair, we were advised of this when we booked, just didn't realise it would be right under my room! My companions' room was at the back & not affected.

Stayed for a couple of nights at the Western St Ives the Hotel is in a central location which is good to explore the town. We had a family room which was a good size it was clean and warm enough the shower was OK though the holder needed tighting up but that's a small thing, the breakfast was adequate the Staff Great fine for the price we paid

I first stayed at the hotel 10 years ago. Since then the rooms, foyer and corridors have had a tasteful refit. Modern but in keeping with this historic building. COVID regulations are adhered to by staff. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. Sadly due to COVID restrictions the breakfast room and the Kettle and Wink bar are closed. The function room is now multi purpose which is where breakfast, evening meal are served and a bar is in operation at night time with live music on some nights. The breakfast selection is excellent, full breakfast is fresh, not greasy. Small evening Menu. We tried the Chilli and vegetarian Lasagne, freshly made, large portion and tasty. Sunday lunch is good value for money and very tasty. The room was spotless with a super shower and a very comfortable bed and pillows. I look forward to visiting Cornwall again and staying at this hotel again.

We had a very nice family room which was spacious and clean. The location was good, only a short walk to the shops and sea. All the staff were friendly and helpful especially Yasmin who went out of her way to help. The breakfasts and dinners were good with lots of choice on offer. The only downside was that there was no car park, but there was a council car park a short walk away. We would highly recommend this hotel.

We was on a family visit to st Ives for what would have been my fathers wedding. We was in room 6. Top floor overlooking the square. Yes, this can be noisy during the day. But we only use a room for sleeping right? We was there for three nights and only had one small instance of noise, a group of 4 waking back from the spoons. You have a hotel in a town centre so please be mindful that there will be noise. The staff and checkin process was easy and polite. General hotel communal areas clean. The room was a little tired. Few bits of dust, crumbling plaster and water mark but your in a hotel that is over 90 years old. At the same time these are things that can be sorted in an afternoon. So I’m not going to mark down for the sake of a spec of dust. There is no parking. But being a st Ives native I knew this and expected it.
