OK so I think our reaction as a couple to this hotel could be representative of travellers in general. Neither of us had an issue with the hotel being run by the Christian Guild. Every business is run by people and people have beliefs although yes I would have been miffed if I hadn't known this ahead of our trip....

The hotel from outside looks lovely very different to the interior. First it was not advertised that this is a Christian Hotel and in fairness it should be. The advertised photos do not resemble reality, we were put in room 50, this is in the roof space. There are no lifts so it is a struggle if you have much...

Beautiful old building and grounds, lovely from the outside. Even the communal areas are quite nice, but a bit worn in places; for example, in the dining room the wallpaper is starting to peel in places but otherwise quite nice. The inside of the hotel reminds me in equal parts of both Fawlty Towers and the hotel from The Shining...

I've just arrived - The signs are good for all those that read and liked my comments on that wonderful B&B in Whitely Bay! Imposing! WIFI! Looks like it was a former stately home-wonder in the Ghosts still prowl the corridors! Will report further as my stay moves on!

This hotel is definately too expensive for the type of accomodation that you get. It is very outdated , room was small and old, the matress was very uncomfortable also there were no dark blinds so we woke up very early as the sun disturbed our sleep. The only good thing was the breakfast and the staff was very friendly...

The room was lovely & big, with a good sized bathroom, and kept nice & clean. staff was always helpful. then it came to breakfast which was ok, but evening meal was rubbish, no flavour to the meals at all, I think they need to change the chef.{could do better myself}. the so called bar was so small, not like...

hotel from the outside looks very beautiful. It is next to two beaches, walking time is 10 minutes, the area is also beautiful. The downside of the hotel is the lack of bathrooms in the rooms 😐hotel is made in the old style, creaky floors, I think the hotel has potential but needs renovation. front desk staff very friendly and...

Having stayed in many hostels when travelling, this hotel was not so much as a shock to me as my slightly more hotel-esque friends. I'll start with the positives. The hotel building is stunning from the outside and the grounds are beautiful. The wifi works, despite how huge the place is and the breakfast was plentiful, with lots of fresh...

So I'll start the review off by saying that luckily it didn't spoil mine and my partners break away but that's only because it was so bad we had to laugh or we would of cried! Firstly I rang the hotel a few weeks before the stay to say I was celebrating with my partner and really wanted to make...
