I think to get a five star rating everything needs to be perfect, that is really is hard to achieve. So I have given 4 for that reason. We had a lovely time at the old coastguard with only two niggles. Firstly the internet kept crashing, I needed it for 5 minutes but it kept connecting and disconnecting. The reception...

Lovely old place beautifully restored into a boutique romantic hotel. Great restaurant with good food and drink, helpful staff who really try to make your stay special. The room we stayed in was quaint, big bathroom, super tub for that hot relaxing bath. No TV in our room which was not missed at all. Highly recommended, check out the deals...

Just returned from 2 wonderful nights at the Old Coastguard, our base for walking the Southwest Coast Path from Porthcurno to Mousehole in glorious May sunshine! Having previously stayed at the Griffin and Gurnard's Head, we had high expectations for the OCH. We were not disappointed, the staff were efficient and friendly and the food was once again excellent -...

Where do I start. We stayed for four nights DBB. This place is amazing, spectacular views of St Michael's Mount & Mousehole Habour. A large dining room and bar with a comfortable vibe, squidgy sofas, to relax overlooking the gardens and sea. Our room was small but the bed was the star, it was huge, really comfortable, the furniture well chosen....

We recently spent a week staying at the Old Coastguard and can't recommend it highly enough. My wife and I stayed with our 6 month old baby daughter and it was perfect. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and helped out whenever we needed anything in particular. The room (14 I think) was very comfortable and spacious for the...

We booked to stay here the day after New Year. Mousehole was very busy (the festive lightshow apparently), which meant the hotel car park was almost full when we arrived late afternoon. As a result, we had to park our very modest hire car in a less optimal spot near the exit/entrance but got assurances from reception that it would...

We had one night here in April 2015, sleeping in room 11. It didn't have a balcony but had a view of St Michaels Mount and the sea. The room was very comfortable with a shower. The hotel is incredibly dog and child friendly with plenty of family games and cards. The dinner was excellent and efficiently served. There is...

We have visited the Old Coastguard twice and both times were excellent. We brought our dog and he was treated like a king by all the staff. A real dog-friendly hotel! The rooms are lovely, and the food (breakfast & dinner) is delicious. Looking forward to returning for our third visit. Can also speak highly of their sister pub, The...

Staff were really lovely, especially the lady who greeted us and those waiting at meal times. Nothing was too much for them. Really delicious food, well presented and good choice. Beds and linens lovely. Downside is if you want a good night's sleep don't choose Room 14 as it is next the kitchen extraction flue which goes all night. Great...

The staff, bar, food, bedroom and ambience were all great. Been before and can't wait to go back again. A great location for walking, local NT properties and 'bit of culture' at the Minack Theatre. Walk out of the garden and you are on the Coastal Walk. Terrific.
