I can't quite make up my mind about this place but overall it was more positive than negative. Our first room, a standard non sea view room, was quite nice. It was roomy and perfectly comfortable but with a terrible view but that's ok as we didn't pay for the sea view. We did however have a problem with the...

A lovely location with great views over the bay, castle and headlands. Within only some 10 minutes walk to the harbour and town. The beach is about 10minutes walk along the cliff walk. There are two beautiful gardens close to the Hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly with always a good morning or afternoon. There is also a...

A warm and genuine welcome and service delivery from 'all' members of staff. The Royal Duchy team ensured we experienced a marvellous and relaxing 'six night' holiday in a beautiful location. We look forward to our next visit.

A 3 night stay great location with seaview. But very sad to say the rest was poor service - in the bar for drinks and bad service in the dinning room. After telling the reception on the second night our concerns we where surprised to see a bottle of champagne on our table on the last night, mmmm, but what...

The Royal Duchy was, up until this month, the only Brend Family Hotel I had not visited - and I expected similar quality as the other 4* hotels Brend own. I was not disappointed in this, as the hotel was splendid in both location and service. Food was excellent and staff were friendly and helpful. I will be returning. (View...

Stayed three nights at this hotel. The room was excellent bed very comfortable. my only complaint would be the shower which although looks very impressive failed to deliver. Water pressure very low and the drain did not drain leaving water to flow out into the bathroom, which could have been dangerous[ slippery floor]. The breakfast was very nice and service...

Room Excellent - If traditional, no surprises here, all just where you would expect it. Staff: Helpful and attentive. Food: Breakfast, again no surprises here - Served not Buffet Style sometimes a longer wait than you may like. Restaurant: Dinner: Plated in the Fine Dining style. My view.... Very much style over substance. By day 3 the menu was beginning...

Food excellent. Staff very helpful and friendly, nothing was to much trouble. Bed was extremely comfortable. Although we didn't have a sea view room this didn't matter as you only sleep in there and you have all the comfortable facilities at the front of the hotel during the day, where you can relax, eat and use sun beds with great...
