I came in with my football friends after a game on wed night. We all ordered and granted, we did make it busy but the attitude on the barman was terrible. No please's or thanks you's. After I ordered a few of my friends ordered after me. I ordered two chicken burgers at exactly 20:30. I was expecting to wait...

I was quite disappointed to say the least when my family and I came to the Oaklands for our tea last Friday. The pub was very busy with only 2 lads waiting the tables. The place was messy and they were both ran off their feet. Our food took over 20 minutes to arrive then my steak sizzler was cooked...

Went for cheap and cheerful meal and that's what we got. Food was good reasonable priced. Very busy lucky to get a table. Bar service slow but staff polite friendly. Went into bar after eating and group on called Firefly. Not my cup of tea too loud but other people seem to enjoy it.

Excellent value for money was impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms and prices of drinks, the bed was really comfy and I slept like a log. All the staff were really friendly and helpful, only a short walk to town so nice and local

The only positive was the price but then you get what you pay for. We arrived at 3pm to find the bar full of drunken idiots. The room was just awful. Dirty, bleak and smelly. Mound in the bathroom and not a single redeeming feature. During the night one of the drunks in the room next door had clearly lost...

We booked this as a cheap option for the first night of our stay, so that we could then stay at a more expensive hotel the next night, so we weren't expecting much. However, it was a very unpleasant stay. We waited about 10-15minutes when we first arrived at the check in as no staff were to be seen. We...

We waited for 15 minutes at the booking in section. My husband then stood in a queue at the bar to advise the only member of staff at the bar that we wanted to check in. He apologised and said someone would be with us shortly. We waited a while longer until another member of staff came to our assistance....

The place stunk! Had a very damp/mouldy smell in the corridors, thank goodness we only stayed one night! The shower didn't work in the retro bathroom suite. When we tried to check out, we were locked in and had to wander the corridors to find a fire exit to leave by, we found the manager out the back of the...

The bar, lounge, dining area was spacious but not impersonal because it's broken up into smaller room like spaces. This allowed you to settle where best suited your mood. The interior is fresh and contemporary with open dining or booths with tv's or again another area that was more sports bar like. The Oaklands is one of three Hungry Horse...
