Stayed here for one night in room 9 which was an unexpected upgrade which was a nice touch. The room is lovely, very big and spotlessly clean and bed very comfy. This is one of the haunted rooms but we didn't see anything! We ate an evening meal here and the food was very nice as was the breakfast. All... More

Stayed 2 nights and we used 2 twin rooms and a four poster room. When we checked in around 22:30, there was a party going on at the pub down stairs. Music was loud, people were noisy but our rooms were back of the building so we couldn't hear the nose from our rooms.Rooms were nice and clean. People were... More

Room 5 was a double room with shower room and this room was beautiful and shower was amazing, bed super comfy and spotless ......unfortunately you can hear the staff setting up in the morning as above the kitchen/dinning area but not a big issue. The thing only let down was the cooked breakfast as the sausages and bacon were over... More

Stayed for one night for our wedding anniversary. Good price for the room. Very clean and tidy. We were in room 2 and it was really nice with a great rainfall shower. Breakfast was good and the hotel is close to a cheap car park in the centre of Chester. Building has loads of character.

Yesterday we had booked to have lunch at the Pied Bull for 13.30, followed by a brewery tour at 3pm. We arrived at 13.15 and ordered our food - we had to chase for our food twice and eventually got served well over an hour later. We then didn't have time for a dessert or coffee prior to the brewery... More

Three of us had the top room and it was much bigger than expected. Two bedrooms one double the other two single beds. Very big bathroom with bath and walk in shower. Had dinner and beer made in micro brewery. Very nice. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed in room 12 very nice room and pub is in a brilliant location but also found it noisy at night the shouting seemed to go on for hours as there was a walkway next to room even though it was at the back ! Breakfast was ok we paid £164 which I thought was a little on the... More

Stayed here as we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary. We also stayed here on our honeymoon. Obviously things had changed in the intervening years but thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay. The room was well equipped and decorated to a high standard. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the food was of good standard. The beer produced on... More

Stayed here for my birthday treat, we were in a fourposter room Room 3, lovely big room complete with bath in bedroom, why? Seperate shower and toilet, shower large and most of the time hot.
