Visited as two couples. We had two traditional afternoon teas and two gentlemen's afternoon teas. The traditional version is on sliced, crustless bread, the gentleman's is on rustic, crusty ciabatta and bolder flavours (mustard, etc) and includes a slice of sausage roll. Highest standards of service and quality of ingredients. The standard offering is for additional sandwiches and as many...

Yet again another fantastic weekend at the Grosvenor. AMAZING from start to finish. Special mention to the ladies within the Spa that helped me with a painful splinter and a lovely young gentleman Ryan in the Brasserie restaurant. Each year we visit for moms birthday and to do a bit of Christmas shopping. Mom walks with a stick and so...

We have stayed at this wonderful hotel many times over the last few years, usually at the end of the year near to our Wedding Anniversary in December, and for Christmas shopping. This year we had the good fortune of being upgraded to the Abbeystead Suite It was fantastic , beautifully presented with everything you could want. The Manager Harry...

Stayed here for the second time and took partner as previous visit was with work. From the moment you arrive outside you are treated like royalty - you luggage is taken inside, your car keys taken from you and you're shown to a desk to check in. We'd book the restaurant and spa and the staff had all the details...

Stayed at this great hotel midweek for a birthday treat. I could not complain about anything . The staff were exceptional, the room as described and the midweek tasting menu was beyond all expectations and amazing value( it must be tried). I was I confess concerned about the cost as I "don't do" expensive but it was mad, such good...

The room and facilities generally were excellent. Attentive staff in the main, good food and drink. What a pity there was a conference there with people who think it is acceptable to shout and bang doors for an hour at 2 am. Disappointed that the hotel staff did not deal with it at the time - they just apologised the...

Stayed here for one night and would certainly return again for longer. The hotel is in an ideal location, right in the centre of Chester, so shops and restaurants are on your doorstep. We were given a free room upgrade on arrival which was a lovely welcome! The room was large and comfortable with all the extras you might want...

Just back from celebrating my mum-in-law's milestone birthday. She generously decided to take us to the Grosvenor and it lived up to all expectations. A treat in every sense, our stay was made even more magical as the hotel was already bedecked with twinkling Christmas finery. The staff are lovely - a particular mention for Ben who brought us drinks...
