We were made to feel very welcome by all staff. They were also happy to share local knowledge and recommend things to do and see. Public areas were all well kept and clean. Room a little outdated but clean and bathroom modern and fresh with a nice shower. 15 minute walk to town or £4.50 in a taxi. It was...

The bed and the shower are pretty important when staying in a hotel. Both were terrible, with an old, noisy, creaky bed and a shower which I gave up on after 10mins of trying to regulate the temp/pressure. Don't know about the other rooms, but beware of Room 25!

We booked this hotel for an overnight stay as we has to attend a funeral the next day. Due to "bodies on the track" we were very late in arriving but the hotel staff couldn't have been more accommodating. Found a takeaway service, kept the bar open, speedy check in, lovely room, comfortable bed, good shower and the next day...

I had the pleasure of staying here from the 13th until 16 Nov this year. I was swiftly checked in and shown to my room, the staff were very pleasant and also very helpful. Breakfast is excellent and the Restaurant does some very nice food in the evening. I have seen some reviews commenting on views? It is situated on...

Just a one-nighter at the Brookside and it ticked all the boxes. Our room was generously sized and well equipped and breakfast offered a good choice. It's unusual to get free parking so close to the centre so that was a real bonus. They seemed pretty full, with a mixture of contractors (judging by the white vans parked outside that...

A lick of paint would do no harm on the stairways and landings. Rooms nice, with very comfortable beds. Lovely staff - friendly and welcoming. Breakfast nice. Dinner - old-fashioned menu, but the steak was really good. Slightly eccentric decor - photographs of books one the walls is not a library!

To get to our room meant...

After a long drive we finally found our hotel. We were welcomed by the lady on reception and directed to our room. The hotel is warm, cosy;very clean and comfortable.Food is fantastic and plentiful and the bar is reasonably priced. The decor in the rooms and stairways are a little tired but overall we loved it here.

We spent 3 nights at the Brookside and it was first class. After an initial upset about the level of one of our parties’ rooms, which I add, was sorted quickly and amicably, we soon settled down for an enjoyable three days. The rooms were spotlessly clean and serviced every day. The staff was all first class, Anna, Alma and...

Expected much from the reviews but in reality the Brookside is a Blackpool boarding house transposed to a Chester suburb! The superior double a gloomy room at the end of a maze overlooking the car park. The damaged shower valve just waiting to scald the unwary. Breakfast very average. Avoid.
