My wife and I have had the pleasure to stay at Rowton Hall Hotel and Spa on four occasions over the past two years. Prior to this, we have visited Chester, every year for the last thirty-five years and stayed with my in laws up until the last two, which due to health problems has led to us having to find alternative accommodation. What a find this establishment has been! The staff, during an extremely difficult time, due to the pandemic, have been absolutely superb. On our first stay here, we experienced some minor problems, but on approaching the management they intervened to ensure that our issues were resolved and that our stay was, not to put a fine point on it, excellent. From top to bottom, the staff have been accommodating and made our multiple stays at the hotel,…

We were initially given room 204 which we promptly left. Similar to Feb's review, the leather chair was worn and damaged, there were loose, cracked tiles, clumps of dust on the floor, lots of pubic hair across the bathroom floor and shower and a suspicious stain on the throw. As this was a birthday surprise, after speaking to reception we were provided with an upgraded room, one of the apartments. Throughout the hotel and rooms there were a number of lights that the bulbs had blown in, limited staffing cover in restaurant and reception, and some missing cleaning elements evidenced by stains and dust which leads me to feel a lack of staffing or lack of attention to detail which I'd expect from a 4 star. In our apartment there was a leak staining one of the walls and black…

Dear 542EmilyH Thank you for taking the time to write your review. My sincere apologies that no aspect of our lovely hotel was to your liking. I am disappointed that you felt it more appropriate to write your review on a social platform instead of speaking about your concerns to either a member of my management team or myself either during your stay or on departure. Kind Regards Aled Aled Humphreys General Manager

Stayed here in the last few days, we booked a superior room, the hotel is quite dated and carpets on main stairs and in corridors could do with updating, the room was lovely clean and spacious, few knocks here and there but overall very pleased, breakfast was great, piping hot and made to order and restaurant clean and welcoming. The view from room was disappointing in a courtyard with rooms all around, also delivers at 7am in the morning not great. Didn’t use the spa so can’t comment. Overall enjoyed our stay and the staff was welcoming.

We booked the master suite for one night stay Dinner, Bed and breakfast and use of the Spa facilities for our Anniversary. I had called the hotel a couple of time prior to arrival for information all helpful trying to help with my requests. On arrival the hotel was quite busy with people checking in but still was checked quickly and earlier than stated on booking. When we opened the door to our master suite was pleasantly surprised the room didn't disappoint, very clean bed one of the best we've ever slept in, in any hotel. Also there was a nice plate decorated with cake and happy anniversary message. just helped to make things that little bit more special. I cant praise all the staff at this hotel all very helpful and friendly excellent, we would defiantly stay here…

We stayed at this hotel for one night as an overnight stay package. We arrived around 12:30 and were happy that we could check straight in and that our room was ready! Our room was old, tired and hot, even with a fan. Dread to think what it would have been like in the summer. We made the most of the spa facilities at the start of our stay and we were then booked in for a full body massage at 14:45. Our therapists came and met us in the spa dining area and one of the therapists (I think her name was Nicki) introduced herself and explained that she would be doing my friends massage today and she would take us up to the spa area. Her colleague was also present but didn’t say a word- whilst Nicki was asking questions about our stay and made us both feel very welcome. When I…

Me and my wife celebrated her birthday recently (Sunday 20th March) with a dinner, bed, breakfast and spa deal at Rowton Hall. We noted some mixed reviews in the weeks prior to our trip (some people were particularly picky about trivial things) but im pleased to say the overwhelming majority of our experience was extremely positive. As mentioned in the review below (must have stayed at the same time), all of the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful - we too must give John at dinner a shoutout as he was a ray of sunshine. Also a young man behind the bar who had recently started and a lady receptionist were great. We stayed in room 3 which was a classic room but was very spacious for what effectively is the smallest room on offer. Yes certain things could be…

We booked the master suite for one night including the spa, breakfast and dinner, and we had the most amazing time! The staff are an absolute pleasure from reception all the way to housekeeping and we would also like to give a special mention to John in the restaurant who made our evening with his fantastic service and sense of humour. The bedroom was lovely and had all amenities including a nespresso machine and tea and coffee making facilities, also included a good quality hairdryer and iron The spa was lovely and didn’t have too many people using it at once, the only thing we’d say is the sauna didn’t appear to be switched on but the steam room definitely made up for it! Breakfast was lovely and service was fantastic again! A really special trip and we thoroughly…

Stayed for two nights in the apartment on a D, B & B winter offer. Very reasonable for what we got, the apartment was fabulous! Very comfortable and clean. Food was good, our main disappointment was in the fact you couldn’t buy sides or bread or any extras, a very basic dinner menu. Wide range of choice for breakfast, the smoked salmon was fantastic but the scrambled eggs were rubbery. Stood around waiting for someone to seat us a few times ( dinner and breakfast), not sure if they are a little understaffed? Overall an enjoyable relaxing break, great location near to Chester.

A pleasant nights stay in the Rowton Hotel. We stayed in ground floor room which was pretty standard but clean and tidy. Used the swimming pool, sauna and steam room in afternoon which was good, towels supplied and use of locker was free. Evening meal was very good and service was excellent. Good choice on breakfast menu and again couldn’t knock food quality and service.
