Had a wonderful tea in the very cosy basement area. Interesting cakes and a Gin and Tonic ice cream sundae (tiny one!). Lovely Lauren was so welcoming and we promised to return with our dog for another visit.

We were given a voucher by our daughter to have Afternoon Tea at Hotel Du Vin, Cambridge. It was lovely! The wonderful Lauren served us to perfection! We had pre-booked (as requested via their website) and our cosy corner table for 2 was all set (and we were 30 minutes early!). Tea with all the trimmings was superb. Scones the...

We had a Champagne Afternoon Tea at Hotel Du Vin (a wedding gift) on Jan 14th 2017. The bistro of this establishment is quite visble from the street and my expectation was we would be sitting in a bar area behind this. No - we were guided to the Cellar Bar area - beautifully atmospheric and sympathetically refurbished. We sat...

My wife bought this visit to Cambridge and a stay at The hotel du Vin as part of a birthday treat. On hearing it was my birthday they gave us an Upgrade to the lovely Pommery Suit complete with illuminated Well and a small private garden (had the weather been good enough). They put themselves out for us and we...

We stayed for one night as friends were getting married at the university. We had paid £20 in advance to be upgraded & on arrival was told we would be upgraded even further to the cinema suite. It was such a wonderful experience from start to finish. We were looked after & cant wait to return! Highly recommend, especially as...

This is an exquisite boutique hotel in an attractive part of Cambridge, lavish in decoration and full of nooks and crannies to camp out in. We tried taking afternoon tea on at 5pm on a January Sunday, but it didn't work out at all. We chose a ground floor lounge made out to look like a library but with easy...

This is a nice hotel. Cosy rooms. Very nice breakfast and a great basement bar. The reception staff let the hotel down. Overall, having dealt with numerous reception staff during our 2 night stay, staff felt somewhat curt and disengaged - not customer focussed. Quite unfriendly. Would have been a lovely stay otherwise.

Dear Ronan K, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I was delighted to hear you enjoyed the bar and breakfast elements of your stay with us. I'm sorry that you found our reception team to curt and disengaged. This was surprising for me as we have only ever had positive feedback. kind regards, Will

Where do I begin. Shocking is all I can say. We travelled 200 miles for an eagerly awaited New Years Eve black tie dinner with entertainment !!! Having stayed at various HDV and Malmaisons we new what to expect but Cambridge HDV was shocking. Firstly the room, paint peeling from the ceiling and skirting board away from the wall shows...

Dear Deb385, thank you for taking the time to write a review. As we discussed on NYE i'm sorry that the information regarding our event was not clarified on check in. I am looking into how you were missed with the canapes as there was a continuous supply going to the bar. At 11:15pm there were a mixture of tables...

Yet again had a fabulous meal at this venue. We started with cocktails in the bar and then moved on to the evening meal. My husband and I both ordered a starter of scallops ceviche and it was glorious, I then had octopus with artichokes which was fabulous. The wine we both love, cote de Provence was wonderful as ever....

Reserved a table at opening time so dining room was quiet. Ordered starters of pate and scallops, both were ok though nothing special. For mains had 2 fillet steaks, 225g for £30 cooked medium rare. One was overcooked and quality of meat was poor for a fillet. The waiter refunded one from the bill. Service was good and nice restaurant...
