Having travelled nearly 70 miles from home, to attend our Grandson's Birthday party at Sawston Sports Centre, our party of 5 arrived early and treid to find a local pub that would offer us some sandwiches as a lunchtime, pre-party snack but to no avail as the only pub food available was a full Sunday Roast. So seeing the Abbott...

My friends stayed here Monday through Friday. The light in the bathroom didn't work the whole of their visit, even though they reported it. Also be aware breakfast is not included. The bed wasn't made at all during their stay, neither where the towels changed. I felt very embarrassed for having recommended this place.

We needed an overnight stop near Cambridge and had a warm welcome here, and an excellent, huge breakfast in the morning. Even though our room faced onto the road, we were not disturbed by traffic or other noise. Large car park and the pub garden even has a climbing frame for kids. The pub itself has a lot of character...

Stayed in the Cottage next door. Double room flat downstairs, family rooms in the flat upstairs. Good value. My son loved the family room & wants to go back! Very handy to have a characterful pub with two old, low beamed bars on site.

When I arrived in the evening, the pub was utterly full. People here are very friendly. I stayed for 1 night; solo occupancy. I was given a double bed room en suite on the ground floor. It's a quiet room. They don't serve a dinner, so if you want to have some meals, you need to go out. Another pub...

I have been in there twice now and had a good night both times , its got some real ales and an open fire, very clean, they don't make pubs like this anymore, plenty of parking outside, I think they do snacks during the day

This is probably the worst place I have ever stayed in, the rooms are nothing like the olde world pictures on the Internet - the whole place is scruffy and run down despite an apparent refurb taking place. The mattress has springs sticking out so I had to sleep with pillows tucked under my hips to get some sleep. Check...

Yes, the beer is great. The food is delicious. The environment is typical of english pub. More or less you can find this in a lot of pubs. BUT, do you know that in this pub, were enjoying their beer the team who discovered DNA! Yes. Somewhere there after a hard days work they were going for a beer, and...

The room was dirty, carpets not vacuumed, spiders in the cobwebs in the bathroom, electrical fittings not working, no bedside lights, very dirty and noisy outside of room which is next to old Public House therefore a lot of noise from raucous punters until 1am. No daily service to room and limited choice at breakfast. l would not visit again.
