The only good thing about this place was how nice the owner is. What a lovely helpful lady. But...it smells awful! Fusty and damp. Worst nights sleep ever. Rock hard pillows. Mould on windows. Very very dated decor and furniture. Awful bed.

I've been two consecutive days in cambridge and i stayed in Carlton lodge, the lady was very helpfull and its very kind. The room was super clean and convenient. Has a great location, really near the center and its not expensive. Cheers from Portugal!!

For what I paid I couldn't fault the place. Shared bathroom is never the dream but it was fine. Bed was comfy, decent tv, internet signal wasn't great from my room 6 though. Breakfast is cereal and toast etc. Owner could talk a glass eye to sleep, lovely fella. Will use again.

The owner is the highlight of this B&B and I must also mention that the continental breakfast is really good. The mattress in the room I had needed replacing, but at least everything was clean and tidy. The shower wasn't very powerful or hot, but it got the job done in the end. For the money I feel that the...

We enjoyed our visit to Cambridge UK and staying at the Carlton Lodge. We stayed in a Double Room with a very comfortable king size bed. Had all we needed in the room which included tea and coffee and a wall mounted TV, which was appreciated when we were awake with Jet Lag !! Breakfast was more than enough for...

Our hosts were friendly and very welcoming. The double room was small and we had to develop strategies for moving around. The ensuite bathroom is very compact and the sink so small that you really have to shower if you want to wash. The water pressure was, however, very low, so I was gad I had washed my long hair...

The strong point of this place is the friendliness of the owner, very kind and welcoming. Apart from this the place is very basic, the room we had was tiny and the bathroom, well, to call it a bathroom would be optimistic. It was a tiny cubicle where to move about if you are tall is a nightmare. Many cobwebs...

As someone else already mentioned it in their review this accommodation offers all basic necessities for a very reasonable price. It is conveniently located in a walking distance to city center in a quiet and safe neighborhood. The owner who runs this place is very nice and helpful, and will do his best to accommodate special needs of your travel...

Note this is a B&B and you get, to an extent, what you pay for. Given I paid £35 for a single room with shared bathroom, my expectations were for a basic hotel with average or worse facilities and condition. I was happily contradicted by a warm welcome, clean room and bathroom and a good continental breakfast. I felt safe...

My fiance and myself were up for a concert, and after a near miss experience with another B&B in Cambridge, I booked this one with just over a week's notice. It was quite a way from the rail station, but worth it. The owner and his wife were very nice people, and our room was lovely. Nice small ensuite bathroom...

“I had room three, next to the shared bathroom and overlooking the road. It was not as noisy as it could have been, but you might ask if a different room is available if you think this might disturb you.”

“The front room is quieter than you'd expect by a main road, and you're right next to the toilet/shower so you can gauge when best to use it.”
