Stayed one night for business. Easy to find, plenty of parking. Check in was quick and efficient, the receptionist was very helpful. I booked a single room which was clean and spacious as was the ensuite bathroom. The room was warm, the bed comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities were provided as well as having free access to both in... More

One of the things that I like about staying in University owned facilities is that the standard of cleanliness and food are both high. The room was a nice size with a nice en suite. The setting and building are noteworthy. The bed was not the most comfortable one we experienced in our travels but it was not terrible. The... More

I was travelling in England with my wife in late October. We live in North Carolina. I am British and my wife is a native North Carolinian. Our trip was a mixture of staying with my family and friends, and an eclectic variety of hotels ranging from a 16th century thatched farmhouse to the striking Madingley Hall near Cambridge. It... The best check in I have ever had. Done in under 2 mins, then given an accompanied walk to show me the facilities, with a history of the building as we walked. The room furnishings were very good. Bed very comfortable with very good pillows. Lovely grounds to walk in. The one disappointment was the evening. No real ale in... More

Stayed here for 1 night and it was a lovely stay. The hotel was clean, staff was friendly. The room was nice, big enough for two people to move, unlike some hotels. The bathroom was clean and spacious. We had a room overlooking the gardens which was lovely! Sadly didn't have enough time to take a wonder but the view... More

I stayed here because it was far and away the cheapest, decent-looking place in Cambridge, although it's about five miles from the centre of town. It's delightful as you approach, and the grounds are lovely, although the walk from the car park to the entrance is pitch-black at night and it's a good job I remembered there was a torch... More

My daughter recently married in the church at Madingley and we held the reception at the wonderful Madingley Hall. What an amazing venue. The room we held the wedding breakfast was simply perfect. Large fireplace with works of art on the walls, a sweeping staircase. The whole hall exudes class and good taste. I would absolutely recommend this as a... More

I found this place by accident. It is owned by Cambridge University Institute of Continuing Education, and is about 4-5 miles from the center of Cambridge, very close to the American Cemetary. Residential courses are offered here year round, and the University offer bed and breakfast accommodation for the public to fill up the rooms. They have about 60 rooms,... More

Spent two nights here, lovely old place with beautiful grounds, clean bedrooms and communal areas. Wouldn't be something I would choose for a hotel stay but that's purely down to personal taste. Good food and helpful staff, check out could be a bit later 9am is a little early hence the 4 star rather than 5.
