Definately a place I'll be coming back to. The room I stayed in (room 2) is a large spacious room which is nicely decorated. It's warm and quiet too. The only negatives which I'll mention is that the TV is slightly small compared to the 40" things you find in a lot of hotels now and also there was a... More

The rooms are bright but in need of modernisation and it's a shame because it lets it down, staff are very friendly and excellent at their jobs and the meal in the evening was delicious and the cooked breakfast to die for.

We stayed here 2 nights and have a very mixed review. We booked rooms for 2 couples on the same booking and checked in together, however we were put about as far away from each other as was possible (room 6 and 17). If we had made separate bookings I would have understood this but as they were booked together... More

This is the third time I've stayed here as I often have to stay in the area for work. Was disappointed after my last stay due to the cleanliness of the room. But decided to give it another try as I've always found staff friendly and welcoming, the location is great and the pub food is fantastic. Rooms have a... More

Stayed for 1 night whilst here for a friend’s 60th birthday party. We were in room 6 on the ground floor. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We had lunch in the Five Bells which the lodge is attached to. The food was good and reasonably priced. The breakfast in with the price of the room was... More

We stayed one night in room four on the ground floor. The carpark was outside the bedroom window and did not affect us, however if it was the summer may be better to have a room on first floor so you could have the windows open. The room was clean and had all we needed in it, with a nice... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
If you're looking for a hotel with character near Tring and the Chiltern Hills, this charming 19th century lodge, nestled in the ancient Aylesbury village of Weston Turville, is a great place to stay.In the 1800s, local farmers tethered their horses to the fence of the pub while they popped inside for a drink. Back then there was barely enough room for four tables. These days, guests can enjoy much more spacious surroundings, which combine all the rustic charms of the original old English inn together with plenty of 21st century comforts.Upstairs there are 16 modern rooms while the pub, among the cosiest around, is the perfect spot to enjoy a few heart-warming drinks and some fresh, seasonally inspired food. You'll find the village near Aston Clinton and Aylesbury, just down the road from the renaissance-style splendour of Waddesdon Manor. Nearby, you can venture into the hills along the famous Icknield Way or relive the glories of the age of steam at Buckinghamshire Railway Centre. ... more   less
