We were going for a night out in Stokes Croft which was a 10 minute walk away, and a 20 minute stagger up the hill back , although it is a safe route and avoids the town centre. This place is like a relic of B&B's of the 1970's, from the decor to the carpets, the furniture to the colour...

What an awesome place to stay in Bristol, a beautiful building, decorated with bits from the lives of the wonderful and slightly eccentric owners. A great alternative to bland hotels. Very friendly and welcoming place that services a great breakfast. Can be a bit of a long, steep climb from the docks but great for Gloucester road and well worth...

Situated in a lovely area of Bristol......a bus ride from the centre and close to Clifton, and close to Gloucester Road, which is where I was intersested in....lots of interesting independent shops. I needed somewhere which was not too expensive, and this place certainly met that bill....a very economical place to be. I mean to say, what do you expect...

I stayed here for a weekend friend with my friend and really enjoyed my stay. It lived up to its name of Toad Lodge - there was toad carpet, toad bedspreads and even a toad bin, We walked in and were greeted by the lovely, eccentric landlady. She was very friendly and welcoming, be aware they only accept cash. The...

I only spent one night but I fell in love with the place; and with the sweet old pair who run it, who reminded me of retired theatre actors from a bygone age. The man of the house serves breakfast like a dear old family butler, and the rooms in this fine Georgian Bristol town house are full of character....

My girlfriend and I stayed for roughly a month in the Toad Lodge while looking for a flat in Bristol. Although I had booked an ensuite room, we were given one without its own bathroom. We did not know then how long we were going to stay there at first (that depended on how lucky we were on the flat...

I chose Toad Lodge based on a convenient location and a competitive price. The reviews online were definitely mixed, though, so I was a little concerned when I arrived that I might be in for a bumpy ride. But Toad Lodge was *great*. The room was freshly redone and very clean; beds comfortable; garden gorgeous; (outdoor) cats charming; clean towels...
