Dt let them put you in room 17, it smells musty probably due mostly to the damp in the outer wall also the wardrobe is shabby and in need of some glue to put the stripping back on. Upon arrival we quickly returned to reception to ask if we had been put in an Executive double as per the booking,... More

Dear Brisfan69, Thank you for your review. I apologise that there were some issues with the rooms you were allocated to during your stay. I am so pleased that Alex, the night receptionist was able to move you swiftly and that you were more comfortable in room 18. We unfortunately have an issue with the render on the exterior of... The room was big enough and it was quiet at night. Although it was February, the room was very warm, despite the radiator being off so not sure what it would be like in August! The plumbing in the bathroom was a bit dodgy -the toilet took ages to refill, the water pressure in the shower was poor and the... More

Drive more than an hour to stay here for the 2nd time. We love Clifton and this is the only hotel we would want to stay in. My only concern is that as nice as the rooms are, I just hope the maintenance stays ahead of the game. Bathroom in the room in the attic was tad unloved in certain... More

Dear Rysambo, Thank you for your review, it is always lovely to hear from repeat guests on Trip Advisor. Clifton is a beautiful area of the city and I never get board of enjoying the surrounding despite working up here, so I can understand anyone making a return visit. We do have a very hard working in house maintenance team... More

This is a very comfortable hotel. Our room was well appointed with good beds and, unlike most hotel rooms, was not too hot to sleep. The breakfast was very good and the staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

I experienced very friendly and efficient service. The hotel is reasonably priced for a single room for one night and was of a much higher standard of cleanliness and service than I expected. The room was a little of the small side but well appointed and comfortable. I checked in very late and there was no problem with turning up... More

Really pleasant staff in check in, made to feel welcome, good waiting staff at the rather splendid "Bristolian" breakfast. Room was clean with some nice extras, shower would be ideal for anyone under 4'10", not great for fully grown men! The parking is limited and the stairs, oh those stairs!!

Excellent and helpful reception, restaurant and bar staff. the room was small, the shower was not fantastic, but the worst feature was an ill fitting sash window - no secondary glazing so it was cold in the room. It was however warm enough after the heating was turned on at 4pm.

Stayed night after a University reunion in Clifton Village No4 restaurant. My second visit.Stayed in single room 3 floors up. You need to be fit to climb up there. Room very small, as was shower and toilet space which was up a step.unsuitable for anyone overweight or lacking easy manoeuverability. Bed OK, Sleep good, breakfast OK. Staff excellent.
