Hotel looks a mess due to refurbishment and lack of staff on reception meant a long check in. No one answering food service number so I had to order from the bar. Food delivered was then wrong. Complained in person to reception still waiting to be called back. No one answering phone from room service, reception or quality line... single...

I stayed here for 5 nights for work purposes. My room was large and recently refurbished. The bed was very comfortable. There were extensive renovations taking place on the ground floor during my stay, and I was impressed how well the hotel operated despite this disruption. The breakfast was included in my room rate, and was a reasonable buffet selection...

Booked a weekend (2 nights) with a friend to explore Bristol and chill. The hotel was undergoing major refurb and appeared to be managing the guests very well. Staff at reception were helpful and polite, concierge recommended a pleasant place to eat on our first night near to hotel. Hotel it's self was clean and room was modern and clean....

Stayed at 358 room was fine. Designed in a modern look. Everything you'd expect in a nice hotel. I would come here again. But not for long period in the standard room due to wardrobe storage but fine for a day or two. Perfect location

Renovating extensively but no mention in website, the whole place was like a building site, dirty, dusty and unsafe - the areas not being renovated were tatty, chairs ripped and held together with duct tape, dirty and soiled. Breakfast was cold in amake shift dinning room and awful. The fan in the room wouldn't switch off so it was like sleeping...

Good central location in Bristol. However, we arrived during a refurbishment and the reception area was temporary. There was only one member of staff fielding a busy check in so always a queue. There were workmen in evidence the whole time and you could hear the work going on. The room we were given on the third floor was nothing...

This hotel is coming towards the end of its refurbishment programme and had been nice to see the changes over the past few months. This time I stayed in one of the newly refurbished rooms and it was lovely. Relaxed historic with a rebellious streak is what they promised and is this is what has been delivered. The room was...

After a very upsetting and busy Xmas, we were looking forward to a restful, 4-star luxury stay in a quiet location, walking to various shows and events we'd arranged. Imagine the shock when arriving at a well-positioned but utterly unsuitable hotel. Why did no-one tell us it was under major building/refurbishment? Why were normal prices displayed (and charged!) OK, we...

Top-end hotels close during refurbishment. This chain has chosen to remain open - a bad strategy. There are builders / decorators working; equipment and building materials strewn around; hammering, drilling and other construction noise; wet paint notices everywhere. To be fair, the staff have been good, despite all this, but it is not fair to expect guests (and users of...
