We traveled with OAT and was late getting out of Lima so we missed the boat ride to our first lodge so we had 1 night at the older of the 4 lodges and most south. The lodge had everything but air conditioning and hot water, so was very comfortable. Our next two nights were at the Ceba Tops, the...

Very rustic, they just added electricity to the rooms 1 month ago. No AC or fans, remember you're in the jungle! No hot water, food was ok mostly rice, beans and banana! Think primitive jungle camping and enjoy the quiet and peaceful Amazon jungle

Hotel isn't quite the right word for this. explorama encompasses lodging, dining, tours and education. And that must be kept in mind when you see the prices as they are steep but worth every single dollar - especially considering they partner with NGO's to provide libraries, clean drinking water a clinic and tons of research! Please be forewarned - this...

We stayed here for 3 days, and yes it took it out of our comfort zone. But would do it all again. No hot water or electric lighting. The staff were very friendly, and could not complain about the food. Fished on the Amazon, visited a local school and also a traditional tribal village. Loved the experience.

A group of friends and I (all fisheries biologists) wanted to go on a fishing trip on the Amazon River. We chose Explorama to host our trip, and we couldn't have been happier with the result! Our goal was to catch as many kinds of fish as possible over the course of two weeks, and with the help of our...

if you want to feel the thrill of adventure, I would recommend staying here. Humid tropical forest and a bit hot, a lot of mosquitoes, various kinds of monkeys and birds and bugs.. The first time I arrived in this place, I was surprised because I was not ready to stay at the place who has not air conditioned. no...

I visited Explorama with a friend in July of 2014 and we had an awesome experience. The food was great and our guide, Paul, couldn't have been better: flexible, friendly, knowledgeable, and fun. After two nights of sleeping in the mosquito net accommodations of the Explorama and Napo Lodges, we decided that we wanted a more comfortable situation - the...

I guess this would be the sort of place you either love or hate, we loved it! We've spoken to a lot of people who stayed at various lodges along the Amazon and we'd have to say that this place was the real deal. Only a couple of minutes by boat from the main river it sits on a small...

We stayed 2 nights at the Explorama Lodge, followed by 1 night at Ceiba Tops, followed by a 3 night cruise on the MV Aqua Amazon. Of these three, Explorama Lodge was by far our favorite experience and far cheaper than the Aqua Amazon cruise. I was with my 23-year-old son who is a medical student. We dined each night...

I stayed at the Amazon Explorama Lodge during the high water season in Peru; but no matter which season, you arrive by boat. This lodge is rustic and accommodations are functional. All rooms are above ground on stilled walkways. One large thatched roof covers a block of rooms, so there is no sound privacy from one room to the next....
