Generous is the key word here, bed, room, bathroom, food. Very comfy bed, with great duvet and pillows. Anniversary treat, we enjoyed our stay very much. A hidden gem, very relaxed and contemporary decor. The massive room at the front ,be aware that this a fast and busy road,it didn't stop me from sleeping,

We stayed overnight on our way to Scotland. Room was spacious but noisy as it was roadside and the road is busy. Ask for a quiet room if you decide to stay. The pillows need a rethink on the beds, they were practically flat! However, we had supper and I had one of the best steaks I've eaten for a... More

The Plough is a wonderful place to go for dinner. The building is deceptive from the outside and actually huge inside with plenty of space for seating. Tables are generous sizes and you arent crammed in amongst loads of others. Staff were brilliant and despite it being a busy Saturday night, looked after us perfectly. Food was divine, perfect size... More

Stayed one night here recently and the standard of furnishing and style were very good. However, the price of a room would suggest something more palatial for a B & B. The room we stayed in had a larger en-suite bathroom than the bedroom and could have been reduced by a 3rd and still would have been enough. Whilst there... More

Stayed nearby the only place in walking distance . Perhaps we chose the wrong dish Fish and Chips not worth the £12.50 each they seem to be only interested in people eating .As when we went in for just a drink we were asked by three different staff if we would like to order food.

We have been here several Saturday nights for a meal. The food is always very good and the staff attentive. We prefer the dining room to the bar area. Tables are well spaced and even though it was busy there was a good atmosphere where you could have a decent conversation, unlike some places. Soft Furnishings all very tasteful but... More

Spent 2 nights after being made redundant. Beautiful superior room which was huge. this was our second visit so knew what to expect and were not disappointed. Wi Fi is almost non existent in all areas of the hotel. Great food. Caters fairly well for Gluten free people. Amazing battered fish which was not on the menu. Short drive to... More

This is a lovely, airy, friendly and comfortable place, situated close to Junction 36 of the M6 and roughly midway between Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale. The food is generally very good. My "twice-baked Lancashire Cheese soufflé was excellent and the lamb rump that followed just melted in the mouth. Sticky toffee pudding lacked the lightness of some of its Cumbrian... More
